URIANGATO 2011 1
Uriangato is one of the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato, located in the borderline between the states of Guanajuato and Michoacán in the region West-Center of Mexico. Uriangato city is geographically united to Moroleon city and Yuriria city, these three cities are a metropolitan area. Since October 2010, this metropolitan area is the 75th biggest city of Mexico and the 5th biggest in Guanajuato. It is smallest of the 56 metropolitan areas in Mexico. Toponymy Uriangato is the Spanish version of a Purepecha word that means "the place where the sunset occurs on top" or ''anapu-nani-hima-huriata-hari-jatzhicuni-anandini'' in Purepecha. Yuriria, Guanajuato, Mexico,(), is one of 46 municipalities in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. Geography Yuriria is located in the "Bajío", or lowlands, of Guanajuato. It is bordered to the east by Salvatierra and Santiago Maravatío, to the north by Jaral del Progreso and Valle de Santiago, to the south by Uriangato and Moroleón, and to the west by the state of Michoacán.
