Thierry Coup
Thierry Jean-Andre Coup is the current senior vice president, chief creative officer of Universal Creative, Universal Parks & Resorts' research and development division. Coup began his career working in the film industry, performing set design and visual effects. He moved into theme park design in the early 1990s when Walt Disney Parks and Resorts offered him a position with Walt Disney Imagineering. In the late 1990s, he transferred over to Universal Creative and worked on projects such as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Transformers: The Ride and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley. Universal's Epic Universe is an upcoming theme park being constructed as part of the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. Its construction was announced in August 2019 but was delayed in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the construction paused in July 2020 for nearly a year before being restarted in March 2021. Universal's Volcano Bay
Universal's Volcano Bay Water Theme Park, or Volcano Bay, is a tropical-themed water park at Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. Owned and operated by Universal Parks & Resorts, Volcano Bay replaced Wet 'n Wild as Universal Orlando Resort's water park, and it was the first water park constructed by Universal itself. The park, themed around a volcano named "Krakatau", opened on May 25, 2017. Krakatau is a tall artificial volcano and is the park's main icon that is displayed on the logo.
