Ulala (Space Channel 5)
Ulala is the main protagonist of Sega's '' Space Channel 5'' series, and of its several spin-offs. Her character was created by Takashi Yuda in the late 1990s and debuted in December 1999 with the release of '' Space Channel 5''. Within the fictional universe of ''Space Channel 5'', Ulala is a reporter for the titular news channel and recurring savior of the galaxy who defeats alien forces with dance moves, alongside rival reporters Pudding and Jaguar. She is assisted by her boss Fuse during live broadcasts and is credited as the most well-known reporter in the Milky Way by her fans and crew members. Ten years prior to the Morolian Invasion of 2499, Ulala was the sole survivor of a deadly spaceship accident that resulted in the death of everyone aboard, including her parents. Space Channel 5
''Space Channel 5'' is a music video game developed by Sega AM9 and published by parent company Sega. Originally released for the Dreamcast (1999 in Japan, 2000 worldwide), it was later ported to the PlayStation 2 (2002 in Europe, 2003 in Japan and North America). A version for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) was published in 2003 as a Western exclusive. Following space-faring reporter Ulala as she investigates an alien invasion, players engage in rhythm-based combat where Ulala mimics the actions of rivals in time to musical tracks. The game was conceived by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who was told to create something aimed at a female audience. Production lasted two years, with a staff of around 20 that included company veterans and newcomers to game development. Sonic The Hedgehog (character)
is a title character and the main protagonist of the video game series of the same name published by Sega, and appears in numerous spin-off comics, animations, and other media. He is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who can run at supersonic speeds and curl into a ball, primarily to attack enemies. Samba De Amigo
is a rhythm game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. The game was released in arcades in December 1999, and for the Dreamcast video game console in 2000. A port for the Wii was also developed by Gearbox Software and Escalation Studios and released in 2008. In ''Samba de Amigo'', the player uses controllers shaped like maracas with the goal of matching a series of patterns displayed on-screen. Samba de Amigo expresses South american music, culture and dancing. The music in ''Samba de Amigo'' is made of primarily popular Latin music songs rather than common or traditional samba. ''Beach Spikers'' is a beach volleyball video game released in Japanese arcades in 2001. The game was developed in-house by Sega AM2 and published by Sega. A GameCube port, renamed ''Beach Spikers: Virtua Beach Volleyball'', was released in 2002 for all regions. Gameplay Based on the sport of beach volleyball, the game revolves around two-on-two matches where a volleyball is hit back and forth over a net until one side allows the ball to touch the ground. ''Dreamcast Collection'' is a video game compilation developed and published by Sega for the Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. A PlayStation 3 version was planned but was scrapped for unknown reasons. The original compilation included four of the best-selling video games for the Dreamcast. Although each of the games by themselves all received positive reviews, the original compilation received mostly mixed to negative reviews and was heavily criticized for the compilation's game selection.
