Ukraine competed at the 2015 European Games, in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 28 June 2015. Ukrainian stamp (2015) Medalists Competitors Ukraine was represented by 240 athletes in 15 sports. Ukraine did not compete in athletics since it was combined with the European Team Championships Third League competition and Ukraine was at that time in the Super League division. Ukraine was represented by the maximum number of athletes in archery, beach soccer, diving, gymnastics, synchronised swimming, table tennis, triathlon and wrestling. Archery Ukraine achieved maximum quotas. Men's team qualified through the performance at the 2014 European Archery Championships in Echmiadzin and women's team through 2015 European Archery Grand Prix in Marathon. Inna Mikolaevna Cherniak ( uk, Інна Миколаївна Черняк, born 26 March 1988) is a Ukrainian judo and sambo practitioner. Career Despite being visually impaired from birth she competes both against sighted and visually impaired people. Her twin sister Maryna is not visually impaired and takes part in regular judo tournaments. To avoid competing against each other the sisters often split the events. For example, at the 2013 World Championships, Inna competed in the 52 kg and Maryna in the 48 kg division. At the 2013 Universiade, both sisters won medals in the 52 kg category, but Inna in sambo and Maryna in judo. The swimming events at the 2015 European Games took place at the Baku Aquatics Centre, Baku from 23 to 27 June 2015. 42 events were contested in long course conditions. Swimming was not included in the earliest list of sports confirmed for the 2015 Games, as the European swimming authorities at that stage were minded not to take part. However, following negotiations with the organising authorities, a compromise was reached whereby, in 2015, these events were for junior swimmers only - in effect, under 18 for men, under 16 for women. In effect, therefore, the swimming portion of the 2015 European Games doubled as the 2015 European Junior Swimming Championships. Alina Vyacheslavivna Berezhna (formerly Stadnyk, née Makhynia, uk, Аліна В'ячеславівна Бережна (Стадник, Махиня); born 3 January 1991) is a Ukrainian freestyle wrestler. She is the 2013 World champion in women's freestyle 67 kg. Personal life Makhynia was born on 3 January 1991 in Chita, Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia. She moved to Ukraine in 1994. Career Competing in the freestyle 67 kg category, Stadnyk won gold at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ankara and the 2013 European Championships in Tbilisi. Gymnastics competitions at the 2015 European Games were held in the National Gymnastics Arena, Baku between 15–21 June 2015. In all, five different gymnastics disciplines were contested. In addition to the existing Olympic programme, additional events were held in both the rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining disciplines. In addition, events in two non-Olympic disciplines, aerobic gymnastics and acrobatic gymnastics were included. Qualification A total of 425 athletes qualified for the gymnastics competitions.
