Uiloq Slettemark
Uiloq Slettemark (born 6 August 1965) is a retired Greenlandic biathlete. She was born in Denmark and has lived in Norway. Life Slettemark was born in Varde in 1965. She is married to Øystein Slettemark who is also a biathlete. Between the two of them they have competed about thirty times in the Arctic Circle Race winning a large number of medals. Uiloq said that she had 14 medals and she might have obtained 15 if she had not been seven months pregnant whilst competing. She has won the race on several occasions. She did not compete in 2012 as she was busy in another event in Greenland. She competed in the Biathlon World Cup in 2000 and the European (IBU Cup) in 2003. Varde
Varde is a Danish city in southwestern Jutland and is the primary city in the municipality of Varde, in Region of Southern Denmark. In 2015 municipality changed its motto to "We in nature" to emphasize its rural atmosphere. The town has an old market environment and is located by Varde stream/river and is a short distance away from the beaches by the North Sea. These features make it a tourist destination. The age of Varde is not known precisely, but it is mentioned in written sources from 1107 A.D. and is therefore thought have been founded sometime in the early Middle Ages. Øystein Slettemark
Øystein Slettemark (born 20 August 1967) is a Greenlandic biathlete. Career Slettemark competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Denmark. His best performance was 86th in the sprint. He also finished 88th in the individual. At IBU events, Slettemark represents Greenland, which does not have its own National Olympic Committee. IBU Cup
The IBU Cup in biathlon has been held since the winter seasons of 1982–83 and 1988–89, for women and men, respectively. Until the 2007–08 season this competition was called European Cup. It is the second-rank competition in biathlon after the Biathlon World Cup. The IBU Cup season lasts from November/December to March, with contests in a different venue almost every week.
