UK Picture Editors' Guild
The UK Picture Editors' Guild is an association for British picture editors, based in Wickford, Essex, United Kingdom. History The guild was formed in 1977 by picture editors working for British national and regional newspapers and picture agencies, with the inaugural meeting on 5 December. Membership was initially restricted to picture editors and their deputies. Later, the membership was opened to other members of the picture desk and then widened to include picture researchers and others whose daily work is involved in editorial photography. The guild has a membership of more than 100 and is run by a chair and a committee. It meets two or three times a year for social occasions, including a go karting event held at Buckmore Park. Awards ceremony The Guild also runs the Picture Editors' Awards. Wickford
Wickford is a town and civil parish in the south of the English county of Essex, with a population of 33,486. Located approximately 30 miles (50 km) east of London, it is within the Borough of Basildon along with the original town of Basildon, Billericay, Laindon and Pitsea. Wickford has a main high street which includes a wide range of shops. It also has a swimming pool, library, open-air market and a community centre within the vicinity of the town centre. History Wickford has a history going back over two thousand years. There is evidence that the area itself was inhabited in prehistoric times probably by a tribe of Britons called Trinovantes. Alexander Gazsi (born 6 October 1984) is a German ice dancer. With partner Nelli Zhiganshina, he is a six-time German national champion (2007, 2011–2015) and has won twelve international medals. They have placed as high as 6th at the European Championships and 10th at the World Championships. Personal life Alexander Gazsi was born on 6 October 1984 in Chemnitz, East Germany. Grenfell Tower
Grenfell Tower is a derelict 24-storey residential tower block in North Kensington in London, England. The tower was completed in 1974 as part of the first phase of the Lancaster West Estate. The tower was named after Grenfell Road, which ran to the south of the building; the road itself was named after Field Marshal Lord Grenfell, a senior British Army officer. Most of the tower was destroyed in a severe fire on 14 June 2017. The building's top 20 storeys consisted of 120 flats, with six per floor – two flats with one bedroom each and four flats with two bedrooms each – with a total of 200 bedrooms.
