UEFA Women's Euro 1995
The 1995 UEFA Women's Championship was a women's association football tournament which was held between 11 December 1994 and 26 March 1995, involving UEFA-affiliated national teams who have qualified for the competition. Germany won the competition for the third time. Format In the qualifying round, 29 teams were divided into 8 groups (containing 3 or 4 teams), with the winners of each group advancing to the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals and semi-finals, matches were played on a home-and-away two-legged basis. In the final, only one match was played, with the winner claiming the UEFA Women's Championship title. While one of the semi-final matches was played in 1994, and there was no singular host, UEFA considers the semi-finals and final as part of the final tournament. Croatian Football Federation
The Croatian Football Federation ( hr, Hrvatski nogometni savez, HNS) is the governing body of association football in Croatia. It was originally formed in 1912 and is based in the capital city of Zagreb. Bislett Stadion
Bislett Stadium ( no, Bislett stadion) is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bislett is Norway's most well known sports arena internationally, with 15 speed skating world records and more than 50 track and field world records having been set here. The original stadium was demolished in 2004 and construction of a new stadium was completed by the summer of 2005. The New Bislett Stadium was designed by C.F. Møller Architects. History Bislett Stadium lies on the site of a 19th-century brick works, which was bought by the Municipality of Kristiania (Oslo) in 1898, and turned into a sports field in 1908. The merchant, speed skater, gymnast and sports organizer Martinus Lørdahl was instrumental in facilitating the construction of the first bleachers, begun in 1917 and completed in 1922 along with the new club house. Heidi Støre
Heidi Elin Støre (born 4 July 1963) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a midfielder. As captain for the Norway national team, she won the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup. Career Støre was born in Sarpsborg. She played for the clubs Sprint-Jeløy (Norway), Trollhättan (Sweden), Kolbotn (Norway), Nikko (Japan) and Athene Moss (Norway). She made her debut for the Norway national team in 1980, and played 151 matches for the national team. She was world champion with the Norwegian team in 1995, received a silver medal in 1991, and won the unofficial world championship tournament in 1988. She was European champion from 1987 and 1993, and received silver medals in 1989 and 1991. She won an Olympic bronze medal with the Norwegian team in 1996. Støre ended her active career in 1997, but returned as administrator of women's football in 2005. Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion (1947)
Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion was a stadium in Budapest, Hungary. The stadium was opened on 1947 and it served as the home for the MTK Budapest FC until 2014. In 2015 the stadium was demolished, and a completely new arena was built between 2015–16, named Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion. History Construction During the World War II the original MTK stadium was damaged, therefore a new stadium had to be built. Between 1945 and 1947 MTK played their home matches at their rivals' stadiums, namely Ferencváros and Újpest. In 1953 a concrete edge was built around the running tracks. Demolition On 6 November 2014, the demolition of the stadium started. First the floodlights system was uninstalled and then the seats were removed. Hege Riise
Hege Riise (born 18 July 1969) is a Norwegian football coach and former midfield player who is coaching the Norway women's national football team. One of the best footballers of her generation, she won the FIFA Women's World Cup, the Olympic Games, and the UEFA Women's Euro with the Norway women's national football team. Playing career Club Riise started playing football at age six and played in a boys' team until age 14. She won the Norwegian Cup competition with Setskog-Høland in 1992. In late 1995 along with four other Norwegians she joined Nikko Securities Dream Ladies football club in Japan. Cathrine Elisabeth Zaborowski-Melbye (; born 3 August 1971) is a former Norwegian football player who played for the Norway national team.
