Group B of UEFA Euro 2004 was one of four groups in the final tournament's initial group stage. It began on 13 June and was completed on 21 June. The group consisted of defending champions France, England, Croatia and Switzerland. France won the group and advanced to the quarter-finals, along with England. Croatia and Switzerland failed to advance. UEFA Euro 2004
The 2004 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2004, was the 12th edition of the UEFA European Championship, a quadrennial association football, football competition contested by the List of men's national association football teams#UEFA (Europe), men's national teams of UEFA member associations. The final tournament was hosted for the first time in Portugal, from 12 June to 4 July 2004. A total of 31 matches were played in ten venues across eight cities – Aveiro, Portugal, Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Guimarães, Faro, Portugal, Faro/Loulé, Leiria, Lisbon, and Porto. Greece National Football Team
The Greece national football team ( el, Εθνική Ελλάδας, ) represents Greece in men's international football matches and is controlled by the Hellenic Football Federation, the governing body for football in Greece. Greece play most of their home matches in Attica, either in Athens at the Olympic Stadium in the Marousi section of the city or in the port city of Piraeus at the Karaiskakis Stadium. Greece is one of only ten national teams to have been crowned UEFA European Champions. Greece had a small presence in international football. Benjamin Huggel
Benjamin "Beni" Huggel (born 7 July 1977) is a Swiss former footballer who played as a midfielder for FC Basel in the Swiss Super League and for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. He won a total of twelve titles with Basel, seven League Championships and five Swiss Cup titles. He played in four Swiss Cup Finals (he missed one due to an injury) and scored a goal in each Final. For Frankfurt he played in the 2006 DFB-Pokal Final, but the team finished as runner-up. Huggel played 41 times as a Swiss international scoring two goals, the second of which being the 1000th goal in the history of the Swiss national team. Christoph Spycher
Christoph Spycher (born 30 March 1978) is Swiss former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Spycher is chief sports officer of BSC Young Boys. Career Born in Wolhusen, Spycher played for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga for five years, mainly as a full-back. He had a trial with Rangers FC in June 2004. In the 2007–08 season he was vice captain at Eintracht. He was appointed captain of the team in July 2009. In May 2010, it was reported that he joined BSC Young Boys. Patrick Müller (born 17 December 1976) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career Meyrin, Servette Born in Geneva, to German father and Swiss mother from Lausanne Müller began his children's football with local club FC Meyrin before he moved to the youth department of Servette in 1994. One year later he advanced to their first team and immediately became regular starter. In 1998 he received his first international call up. In the 1998–99 Nationalliga A season he won the Swiss championship with Servette. Juventus While Müller was playing in one of his first international matches, he was watched by a scout from Juventus and soon afterwards offered a contract. Murat Yakin
Murat Yakin ( tr, Yakın; born 15 September 1974) is a Swiss football coach and former player. He is the manager of the Switzerland national football team. Playing career Yakin spent the longest spell of his career playing for his hometown club FC Basel, where he was the defensive linchpin, captain and libero of a team which enjoyed domestic and relative European success. He won the Swiss Super League on five occasions (1995, 1996, 2002, 2004, 2005), and the Swiss Cup three times (1994, 2002, 2003). Bernt Haas
Bernt Haas (born 8 April 1978) is a former Swiss football defender. Career Haas was born in Vienna, Austria. He began his career at Grasshoppers Zurich, where he played for several seasons before moving to England to join Premier League club Sunderland in August 2001. Despite making 27 appearances for the club in 2001–02, he did not play for Sunderland during the following season and was loaned out to FC Basel. Haas joined West Bromwich Albion in 2003, and was a regular at right-back as Albion were promoted back to the Premier League. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. Jörg Stiel (born 3 March 1968) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Since June 2021, he has been working as goalkeeper coach of Grasshopper Club Zürich. Lucílio Cardoso Cortez Batista (born 26 April 1965 in Lisbon) is a retired Portuguese football referee. A bank teller by profession, Batista started refereeing Portuguese first division matches in the mid-1990s in the national territory. Leiria
Leiria (; cel-x-proto, ɸlāryo) is a city and municipality in the Central Region of Portugal.
