Utica, also known as Utica Mills, is an unincorporated community located in Frederick County, Maryland, United States, at the intersection of Old Frederick Road and Lenhart Road. It is home to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Utica Covered Bridge, also known as the Utica Mills Covered Bridge, is located nearby. Maryland Counties

Utica Covered Bridge
The Utica Road Covered Bridge is a Burr truss wooden covered bridge located near Lewistown, Maryland. Originally built in 1834, it spanned the Monocacy River at the Devilbiss Bridge crossing. An 1889 flood damaged the bridge and the surviving half was moved to Fishing Creek in 1891. Like the nearby Loys Station Covered Bridge, a pier was inserted at the middle of the bridge to halve its span. The Utica Covered Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The 18th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment was a Union regiment that fought in the American Civil War. History Initial training The regiment was organized at Readville and Boston in July 1861. Recruited chiefly from the counties of Norfolk, Bristol, and Plymouth, it then moved to at Camp Brigham in Dedham for basic training. It was formed, primarily, with men of the Bristol, Norfolk and Plymouth counties of Massachusetts with a 3-year enlistment period. The regiment originally consisted of 10 companies, band and regimental staff. The regiment followed the standard structure of the three-year volunteer regiments of ten companies of 83-101 men (which could be split into two battalions on an ad hoc basis) and a field staff of 36-66.
