From there the route travels east along Poplar Street before turning south onto South Main Street. The route then continues south along South Main Street (which becomes North Spring Glen Road) toward Spring Glen, parallel to US-6/US-191, before turning east onto Kenilworth Road (initially 4500 North). Helper, Utah
Helper is a city in Carbon County, Utah, United States, approximately southeast of Salt Lake City and northwest of the city of Price. The population was 2,201 at the 2010 census. The city is located along the Price River and U.S. Route 6/U.S. Route 191, a shortcut between Provo and Interstate 70, on the way from Salt Lake City to Grand Junction, Colorado. It is the location of the Western Mining and Railroad Museum, a tourist attraction that also contains household and commercial artifacts illustrating late 19th and early 20th-century living conditions. Kenilworth is a census-designated place in northern Carbon County, Utah, United States. Description The community lies at the eastern end of State Route 157, north of the city of Price, the county seat of Carbon County. Kenilworth has a post office with the ZIP code 84529. The population was 180 at the 2010 census. History Like many communities in Carbon County, Kenilworth began as a coal mining camp. Coal was first discovered in the area in 1904, and the town site was laid out in 1908. The name ''Kenilworth'' was given by British miners who thought the mountain peaks overlooking the area resembled the spires of Kenilworth Castle. Demographics The population was about 500 in 1910, rose to a high of 1,050 in 1947, and at the 1990 census was down to 350. As of the census of 2010, there were 180 people living in the CDP. Carbon County is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 21,403. Its county seat and largest city is Price. The Price, UT Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Carbon County. History Carbon County was part of Emery County, founded in 1880. The demographics along the Price River changed with the construction of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in 1883 and the development of coal mines, largely in upper Emery, to fuel the railroad. Spring Glen, Utah
Spring Glen is a census-designated place in Carbon County, in eastern Utah, United States. The population was 1,126 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1878, Spring Glen was the first permanent settlement in what is now Carbon County. First settled principally by white Mormon farmers, the community became much more diverse after about 1890, when the development of the area's coal mines brought an influx of immigrants from Southern Europe and other regions. Geography Spring Glen lies along the Price River, just to the south of Helper and southwest of Kenilworth. To the southeast are Carbonville and the county seat, Price.
