Uruguayan Australians ( es, uruguayos australiano) refers to Australians of Uruguayan ancestry or birth who reside in Australia. According to the 2006 Australian census, 9,376 Australians were born in Uruguay while 6,485 claimed Uruguayan ancestry, either alone or with another ancestry. Australian English (AusE, AusEng, AuE, AuEng, en-AU) is the set of varieties of the English language native to Australia. It is the country's common language and ''de facto'' national language; while Australia has no official language, English is the first language of the majority of the population, and has been entrenched as the ''de facto'' national language since European settlement, being the only language spoken in the home for 72% of Australians. Anthony Richard Caceres (born 29 September 1992) is an Australian association football player who plays as a central midfielder for Sydney FC. Career Central Coast Mariners Caceres made his A-League debut for the Central Coast Mariners in the F3 Derby against the Newcastle Jets, starting in a scoreless draw in January 2013. European Australians are citizens or residents of Australia whose ancestry originates from the peoples of Europe. They form the largest panethnic group in the country. At the 2021 census, the number of ancestry responses categorised within European ancestral groups as a proportion of the total population amounted to 57.2% (including 46% North-West European and 11.2% Southern and Eastern European). Chilean Australians ( es, chilenos australiano) are Australians of Chilean descent or Chileans who have obtained Australian citizenship. Chileans are the second largest group of Hispanic and Latin American Australians residing in Australia. The biggest Chilean Australian communities are primarily found in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Demography According to the 2006 Australian Census, 23,305 Australians were born in Chile while 25,439 claimed Chilean ancestry, either alone or with another ancestry. Carmen Novoa
Carmen Ibis Novoa (born 21 August 1941) is a Uruguayan artist, painter, award-winning writer and poet. Novoa was born in El Cerro, a suburb of Montevideo and immigrated to Melbourne in 1978 where she currently resides. Novoa was the first person to organise an exhibition in Parliament House, Melbourne building. Rockdale Ilinden Football Club (formerly known as the Rockdale City Suns Football Club from 1992 to 2020) is an Australian Macedonian soccer club based in Sydney suburb of Rockdale. Founded in 1969, the club competes in the highest men's competition in New South Wales, the National Premier League NSW. The club's home ground is Ilinden Sports Centre, located in the suburb of Rockdale, New South Wales. Blake Ashley Ricciuto Harriot (born 2 September 1992) is an Australian professional footballer who plays mainly as a central-midfielder for Singapore Premier League club Tanjong Pagar United FC. Richard Aníbal Porta Candelaresi (born 1 August 1983) is a former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is a two-time golden boot winner, having won the award whilst at River Plate and most recently at Nacional in Uruguay's Primera División. Telmo Languiller
Telmo Ramon Languiller-Tornesi (born 31 July 1957) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2018, representing the electorates of Sunshine (1999–2002), Derrimut (2002–2014) and Tarneit (2014–2018). From December 2014, he was Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, but was forced to resign in March 2017 for claiming a second house allowance. While entitled to the allowance, it failed the test of public opinion and Languiller was forced to repay the allowance by the Premier. Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia.
