Urmas Muru
Urmas Muru (born 27 August 1961) is an Estonian architect and artist. From 1968 to 1979, Urmas Muru studied in the 2nd Secondary School of Pärnu. From 1979 Urmas Muru studied in the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (today's Estonian Academy of Arts) in the department of architecture. He graduated from the institute in 1984. From 1984 to 1985 Urmas Muru worked in the Tallinn office of the Tsentrosojuz design bureau. From 1986 to 1990 he worked in the state design bureau Eesti Tööstusprojekt (Estonian Industrial Design). At present time Urmas Muru works in the Muru&Pere OÜ architectural bureau. Most notable works by Urmas Muru are the Pääsküla library, the Haabersti recreational center, numerous apartment buildings and single-family homes. Pärnu
Pärnu () is the fourth largest city in Estonia. Situated in southwest Estonia, Pärnu is located south of the Estonian capital, Tallinn, and west of Estonia's second largest city, Tartu. Estonian Encyclopaedia Publishers ( et, Eesti Entsüklopeediakirjastus) was an Estonian publisher which published reference literature (like encyclopedias, atlases) and popular science literature. As of 2009 publisher's main shareholders were Hardo Aasmäe (owned 25.6%), (owned 20.4%), and Ülo Kaevats (owned 12.0%). In 2011 the publisher went bankrupt. However, the bankruptcy proceedings got stuck because the owner of the publishing house's last office, Ülemiste City, confiscated the property in the company's office and sold it to cover the 9,000-euro rent debt. Bankruptcy administrator Tiina Mitt estimated its value at over 4.3 million euros. The location of sold documents, author contracts and books under editing is unknown. Tartu
Tartu is the second largest city in Estonia after the Northern European country's political and financial capital, Tallinn. Tartu has a population of 91,407 (as of 2021). Lasnamäe
Lasnamäe is the most populous administrative district of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The district's population is about 119,000, the majority of which is Russian-speaking. Local housing is mostly represented by 5–16 stories high panel blocks of flats, built in the 1970–1990s. The district lies in the eastern part of Tallinn. In the east it is bordered by the Pirita River; in the north and northwest a limestone escarpment (part of the Baltic Klint) separates Lasnamäe from Pirita and Kesklinn. The district is situated on a flat limestone plateau that lies 30–52 m above sea level. The highest point in Lasnamäe is the Sõjamägi Hill at 54 m asl. Peeter Pere
Peeter Pere (born 15 June 1957 in Tartu) is a notable Estonian architect and artist. From 1975 Peeter Pere studied in the National Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (today's Estonian Academy of Arts) in the department of architecture. He graduated from the institute in 1980. From 1980 to 1993 Peeter Pere worked in the state design bureau Eesti Tööstusprojekt (Estonian Industrial Design). From 1994 he has worked in the architectural bureaus F&P, Muru&Pere and as a freelance architect. Most notable works by Peeter Pere are the library of Pääsküla, recreational center of Haabersti, social housing in Lasnamäe and apartment building in Maarjamäe.
