Armando Uribe
Armando Uribe Arce (October 28, 1933 – January 22, 2020) was a Chilean writer, poet, lawyer, and diplomat. Biography Uribe was born in Santiago. He was educated at the Saint George's College. He later studied law in the University of Chile and received his law degree in 1959, where he served as a law professor for over 30 years. In addition, Uribe held various positions in law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Michigan State University, University of Sassari in Italy, and University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne in France. He published numerous works on politics, religion, criminal law, and mining, and was a member of the Chilean Academy of Language and the Royal Spanish Academy. Ángel Uribe Sánchez, (25 November 1938 in Ancón, Lima – 17 October 2008 in Ancón Lima) was a football forward player from Peru who played his entire club career for Universitario de Deportes. Ana Uribe is a muralist and painter originally from Colombia, who lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has created multiple murals as part of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, many of them in poorer neighborhoods of Philadelphia. Biography Born in Colombia, Uribe grew up in Medellín, Colombia. She took lessons in painting from Mariela Ochoa and Libe de Zulategüi. After studying architecture at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, she moved to Philadelphia in 1973 to attend Moore College of Art and Design in the United States. After she graduated in 1977, Uribe spent time in the Andes. Uribe painted a mural, "Sunflowers, a Tribute to Aimee Willard," in Hope Garden Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1999. Manuel Fernando Serrano Uribe (May 30, 1789 – February 15, 1819) was a Neogranadine statesman, lawyer, and officer who became Governor of the Province of Pamplona and wrote its Constitution in 1815. Luis Uribe Orrego (August 13, 1847 – July 17, 1914) was a Vice-Admiral of the Chilean Navy and a hero of the War of the Pacific. Luis Uribe was born in Copiapó, the son of Juan José Uribe and of Rosario Orrego. He joined the navy on August 20, 1858, at the age of 9 years old, and graduated from the naval academy on July 16, 1861 as a midshipman. His first post was on the "Esmeralda", where he travelled to the extreme south of Chile, to the Juan Fernández Islands and to Peru. Uribe was promoted to ensign (equivalent of army's Second Lieutenant) in 1869, and the next year participated on a scientific expedition to Easter Island, where they prepared a topographic study. Manuel Miguel de Lardizábal y Uribe (23 December 1739–25 December 1820) was a Novohispanic penologist who was an academician of the Real Academia Española de la Lengua from 1775 to 1820.
