Urechești is a commune located in Vrancea County, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Urechești. It also included Popești and Terchești villages until 2003, when they were split off to form Popești Commune. Valeriu Pantazi
Valeriu Pantazi (born Pantazie Valeriu Constantinescu on 17 May 1940 – 25 July 2015) was a Romanian poet, writer, and painter. He was born in Urechești (at the time in Râmnicu Sărat County, now in Vrancea County), the son of Octavian Constantinescu and Maria Oprescu. He completed his secondary education at the Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu High School in Buzău. Pantazi died in Bucharest and is buried at Străulești Cemetery. Angel Tîlvăr (born 11 February 1962) is a Romanian politician and English teacher who, from 31 October 2022, holds the position of Minister of National Defense. He was elected senator in the 2004–2008 legislature and then a deputy in the legislatures starting in 2008, in Vrancea County on the lists of the Social Democratic Party. Biography Born in Urechești, Vrancea, Romania, Tîlvăr graduated in 1985 from the University of Bucharest. He was an English teacher between 1985 and 2004. In the 2004–2008 legislature, Tîlvăr was a member of the friendship parliamentary groups with the Republic of Ivory Coast and the Republic of Estonia.
