''Unlock'' (stylized as ''UNLOCK'') is the debut Japanese studio album by South Korean band Day6, which was released on October 17, 2018. The album features 10 tracks, including the singles '' If -Mata Aetara-'' and ''Stop The Rain''. The album peaked at number 21 on Oricon Charts. Background and release In January 2018, it was revealed that Day6 would make their Japanese debut with the release of the single " If -Mata Aetara-" on March 14. They released their second Japanese single album ''Stop the Rain'', produced by Shinichi Ubukata, on July 25. ''Breaking Down'', the title track of the album, was released along with a music video in September (one month prior the release of the album) as a promotional track. Members Sungjin, Jae, Young K and Wonpil participated in the writing of the lyrics and all members, including Dowoon, participated in producing the tracks. Day6 (; stylized in all caps) is a South Korean pop rock band under the label JYP Entertainment. The group debuted on September 7, 2015, with the EP ''The Day,'' which peaked at No.2 on ''Billboard''s World Album Chart a week following its release. The band consists of four members: Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon. Originally a six-piece band, Junhyeok departed on February 27, 2016, and Jae departed on December 31, 2021. All of the Day6 members are heavily involved in writing, composing and producing the band's music. In 2017, the band released two songs every month of the year for their ''Every Day6'' project. By the end of the project, 25 songs were added to their discography, with genres ranging from hard rock and upbeat sing-a-longs to mellow ballads. Wonpil
Kim Won-pil ( ko, 김원필; born April 28, 1994), also known by his mononym Wonpil, is a South Korean singer, pianist, keyboardist, singer-songwriter, composer and actor. He is the keyboardist of pop rock band Day6 and its sub unit Even of Day under JYP Entertainment. His debut album ''Pilmography'' debuted at number one on the Gaon Album Chart in February 2022. Early life Wonpil was born in Incheon, South Korea. His parents run a piano academy so he was familiar with piano since a young age, and he learned how to play it by himself. , established in 1999, is the holding company at the head of a Japanese corporate group that supplies statistics and information on music and the music industry in Japan and Western music. The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units. Kang Young-hyun ( ko, 강영현; born December 19, 1993), known professionally as Young K, is a Korean musician, singer, songwriter and rapper. He is best known as the bassist, vocalist and rapper of South Korean rock band Day6. Early life Kang was born on December 19, 1993, in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He was raised in Ilsan, South Korea and moved to Toronto, Canada, to attend middle and high school at York Mills Collegiate Institute. Since sixth grade, he has not lived with his parents. Pop Rock
