''Unlimited Everything'' is a "best of" compilation album released by Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper in 1990. It includes the outtake "Amsterdam Dogshit Blues" (previously released on the compilation ''The Enigma Variations 2'') and the "(619) 239-KING" B-side "I Gotta Connect," from which the album's title is derived. "Jesus at McDonald's" is the version from their first album, '' Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper''. This release is the only appearance on CD of the original mix of "Stuffin' Martha's Muffin," from the '' Frenzy'' LP. The disc was apparently released in Europe only. Enigma Records (also known as Enigma Entertainment Corporation) was a popular rock and alternative American record label in the 1980s. History Enigma Records launched as a division of Greenworld Distribution, an independent music importer/distributor, in 1981. Four years later, in 1985, Enigma severed ties with Greenworld and became its own company. Enigma was initially located in Torrance, California, then El Segundo, California and finally Culver City, California. Enigma was founded and run by brothers William and Wesley Hein. Jim Martone joined the company in 1984. ''Root Hog or Die'' is an album by the American musicians Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper, released in 1989. It was the duo's final studio album. Nixon originally wanted to call it ''Bush Idiot Slime''; he took "root hog or die" from Davy Crockett's autobiography. The duo supported the album with a North American tour. ''Root Hog or Die'' sold more than 50,000 copies in its first six months of release. "Debbie Gibson Is Pregnant with My Two-Headed Love Child" was released as a single; MTV refused to air the accompanying video, which starred Winona Ryder as Gibson. The song peaked at No. 16 on ''Billboards Modern Rock Tracks chart. The video for "(619) 239-KING" includes guest appearances from the Beat Farmers, Dead Milkmen, and Kris Kristofferson. Mojo Nixon (born Neill Kirby McMillan, Jr.; August 2, 1957) is an American musician and actor best known for his humorous, irreverent Novelty song "Elvis Is Everywhere" which was an alternative staple on MTV. His style can generally be defined as psychobilly, a musical genre which blends rockabilly with punk rock. Nixon has largely retired from playing live and recording, and currently hosts the "Loon In The Afternoon" radio show on Sirius XM. Early career Nixon was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He paired with Skid Roper in the early 1980s in San Diego. Roper mostly provided instrumental backup to Nixon's lyrics. Skid Roper
Skid Roper (born Richard Banke, October 19, 1954, in National City, California, United States) is an American musician, most active in the 1980s and early 1990s. He has recorded with several groups including the surf band The Evasions, but is best known for his work with Mojo Nixon between 1985 and 1989. With Nixon, Roper served mainly as an instrumentalist. He commonly played instruments such as the washboard and the mandolin. Since parting ways with Nixon in 1989, Roper has released three solo albums. The first two albums had a much stronger country influence, and were considerably less raucous than his work with Nixon. Roper also formed a surf band called Skid Roper and the Shadowcasters. Roper's latest CD, ''Rock and Roll Part 3'', was released in 2010. Ten years in the making, Roper plays guitar, mandolin, organ, harmonica, percussion and whistling, sings each track and wrote all but one song. ''Frenzy'' is the second album by Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper, released in 1986. The album was re-released on CD in 1987, with the EP '' Get Out Of My Way!'' added to the end. The CD uses the ''Get Out of My Way!'' mix of "Stuffin' Martha's Muffin," which filters the telephone conversation part of Nixon's opening monologue to sound like he is talking on the phone, instead of the original ''Frenzy'' LP mix. "Transylvanian Xmas" is a version of "Joy to the World," performed by Roper on harmonica with the melody tweaked to sound spooky; Nixon plays bongos.
