University of Asia Pacific ( bn, ইউনিভার্সিটি অব এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক) often abbreviated as UAP is a private university located at Dhaka, Bangladesh. History The University of Asia Pacific was established in 1995 as a private university under the Private University Act 1992 with Mr. Hedayat Ahmed as the founder Vice Chancellor. Its curriculum has been approved by The University Grants Commission of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The university started its operation in the first semester of classes in 1996 and offered four-year bachelor's degree programs in Computer Science and Technology and Business Administration only. It was created according to the Presidential Order (P.O. No 10 of 1973) of the Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh. 2018 Bangladesh Road-safety Protests
A series of public protests in Bangladesh advocating improved road safety were held from 29 July to 8 August 2018. They were sparked by the deaths of two high-school students in Dhaka struck by a bus operated by an unlicensed driver who was racing to collect passengers. The incident impelled students to demand safer roads and stricter traffic laws, and the demonstrations rapidly spread throughout Bangladesh. The protests were peaceful until 2 August, when police attempted to disperse the demonstrators with tear gas and people believed to be members of a pro-government youth league attacked protesters and journalists. Abdul Matin Patwari (born January 1, 1935) is a Bangladeshi academic. He served as the 4th vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Education Dr. Patwari passed matriculation examination from Matlabganj J. B. Pilot High School in Comilla in 1950 (stood 1st place) and intermediate examination from Rajshahi College in 1952 (Stood 2nd place). Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury (15 November 1942 – 28 April 2020) was a Bangladeshi civil engineer, professor, researcher, and education advocate. He was an Adviser (Minister) to Caretaker government of Bangladesh, Caretaker Government of Bangladesh (April–June 1996).
