Universal Networks International
NBCUniversal International Networks, formerly NBC Universal Global Networks and Universal Networks International, is a part of NBCUniversal, owned by Comcast. History When NBCUniversal was formed in 2004, it owned many entertainment television channels in Europe and Latin America. These were mostly a few international versions of the Sci Fi Channel, three action and suspense series channels in Europe, the Italian Studio Universal channel and the Latin American version of the USA Network. In 2007, NBC Universal acquired Sparrowhawk Media Group, which at the time was a British private equity-backed media company managing a collection of digital television channels, and integrated it into NBC Universal Global Networks. Style Network (known on air as Style) was an Australian pay television channel that owned by Universal Networks International. It was a domestic version of the American Style Network (which it outlasted by six years after that network was converted to the short-lived men's interest Esquire Network), and much like its American counterpart it featured fashion, design, and programming for women. It was available through the Foxtel and FetchTV platforms. In 2014, it became available on Australian streaming service Foxtel Play. 13th Street was an Australian television channel which specialised in airing action and suspense programmes. The channel was owned by NBC Universal and was launched on 15 November 2009 as part of Foxtel's Next Generation launch. It launched on Fetch TV in 2017 as part of Fetch TV's channel pack revamp. The same business that runs 13th Street in other nations also owned 13th Street in Australia. It was the first 13th Street to use the new logo, which Universal Networks International debuted at MIPCOM in October 2009 On 3 November 2014, 13th Street launched a HD simulcast on Foxtel. Oxygen (branded on air as Oxygen True Crime) is an American television channel owned by the NBCUniversal Television and Streaming unit of NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast, through its Cable Entertainment Group subsidiary. Universal TV (formerly Hallmark Channel and Universal Channel) is an Australian cable and satellite television channel, owned and operated by NBCUniversal International Networks. It has been available on most subscription television platforms in Australia since 1998. History The channel was added to Austar in April 1999. On 1 July 2010 the Hallmark Channel rebranded as the Universal Channel.
