United States National Under-20 Rugby Union Team
The United States national under-20 rugby union team, for sponsorship reasons known as the AIG Men's Junior All-Americans, is the United States' junior rugby team at the national level. The U-20 team has competed at the IRB Junior World Championship and at several IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy tournaments. History The U20 program was originally a U19 team. With the decision by the International Rugby Board to merge their U19 and Under 21 Rugby World Championships to form the IRB Junior World Championship for U20 players effective as of the 2008 season, the team evolved into a U20 team to participate in the new competitions. Madison Hughes
Madison John Hughes (born October 26, 1992) is a rugby union player who was the captain of the United States national rugby sevens team from 2014 until he stepped away from the team in late 2021. Hughes was named captain of the United States national team at the start of the 2014 Sevens World Series, shortly after the appointment of new head coach Mike Friday. Hughes captained the US Eagles to their highest ever finish in the sevens series (sixth place) in the 2014/2015 season, a significant improvement on the team's 12th place finish the previous year. This feat was matched with another strong year in the 2015/2016 Season, where Hughes was the highest points scorer in the World Series. Hughes was the second highest scorer for the 2015 series with 296 points. Hanco Jacobus Germishuys (born August 24, 1996) is a South African born American rugby union player who plays as a flanker for the Houston SaberCats in Major League Rugby (MLR) and for the United States national rugby union team internationally. He previously played for Rugby United New York (RUNY) and the LA Giltinis in MLR. Germishuys has also represented the United States at the international level with multiple age-grade sides and with the USA Selects. CoDi is a cellular automaton (CA) model for spiking neural networks (SNNs). CoDi is an acronym for Collect and Distribute, referring to the signals and spikes in a neural network. CoDi uses a von Neumann neighborhood modified for a three-dimensional space; each cell looks at the states of its six orthogonal neighbors and its own state. In a growth phase a neural network is grown in the CA-space based on an underlying chromosome. There are four types of cells: neuron body, axon, dendrite and blank. The growth phase is followed by a signaling- or processing-phase. Signals are distributed from the neuron bodies via their axon tree and collected from connection dendrites. These two basic interactions cover every case, and they can be expressed simply, using a small number of rules. Ben Tarr
Benjamin Tarr (born 17 March 1994), is an American rugby union player who plays for the New Orleans Gold in Major League Rugby (MLR). His usual position is tighthead prop. He also played for the United States national team. Early life Tarr grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, before studying and playing rugby at the Southport School in Queensland, Australia. Career Tarr represented the United States under-20 team at the 2014 Junior World Rugby Trophy where he played in the front row alongside fellow future USA Eagle Titi Lamositele. He then joined the USA Selects for the 2014 Americas Rugby Championship. Tarr was selected for the USA Eagles 2014 Autumn tour to Europe. Titi Lamositele (born February 11, 1995) is an American rugby union player who plays at prop for Montpellier and the United States national team. Club career Lamositele made his professional debut on March 22, 2015, playing 9 minutes off the bench for Saracens in an LV= Cup loss to Exeter Chiefs. He helped Saracens win the European Champions Cup in 2017 and 2019, featuring in both finals. World Rugby Under 20 Trophy
The World Rugby Under 20 Trophy (known as the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy until 2014) is an international rugby union competition. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, World Rugby, and is contested by 8 men's junior national teams with an under-20 age requirement. This event replaced the World Rugby's former age-grade world championships, the Under-19 and Under-21 World Championships.
