Kenny Selmon
Kenneth Selmon (born August 27, 1996) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400 metres hurdles. He won the USA Outdoor Championship in 2018 and represented his country at the 2018 Athletics World Cup in London, where he won the 400 metres hurdles. Early life Selmon attended high school at Pace Academy in Atlanta, GA. He was a 7-time GHSA state champion in track and field and 3-time all-american in the 400 metres hurdles. While in high school, Selmon placed third at the 2013 World Youth Championships in the 400mH and won the 2014 National Championship. Collegiate career Selmon attended the University of North Carolina where he competed in indoor and outdoor track and field. While at UNC, Selmon won two ACC Championships in the 400 metres hurdles and placed 4th, 3rd, and 2nd in the NCAA Division I National Championships in the 400mH in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Pole vaulting, also known as pole jumping, is a track and field event in which an athlete uses a long and flexible pole, usually made from fiberglass or carbon fiber, as an aid to jump over a bar. Pole jumping competitions were known to the Mycenaean Greeks, Minoan Greeks and Celts. It has been a full medal event at the Olympic Games since 1896 for men and since 2000 for women. Sam Kendricks
Sam Kendricks (born September 7, 1992) is an American pole vaulter. He is a three-time indoor and six-time outdoor national champion (2014–2019), the 2016 Olympics bronze medalist, and the 2017 World Champion. In 2019, Kendricks set the American pole vault record at 6.06 m, tying him with Steve Hooker for fourth all time. He later won the gold medal at the World Championships in Doha. , Kendricks is a first lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve. Prep Kendricks vaulted for Oxford High School in Oxford, Mississippi leading his team to the 2009 MHSAA 5A State Championship. He vaulted to set the state record. High Jump
The high jump is a track and field event in which competitors must jump unaided over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without dislodging it. In its modern, most-practiced format, a bar is placed between two standards with a crash mat for landing. Since ancient times, competitors have introduced increasingly effective techniques to arrive at the current form, and the current universally preferred method is the Fosbury Flop, in which athletes run towards the bar and leap head first with their back to the bar. Jeron Robinson (born April 30, 1991, in Angleton, Texas) is an American track and field high jumper. He is a three time NCAA Div II Outdoor Champion (2013-2015) while jumping for Texas A&M–Kingsville. His 2015 victory was capped by a personal best , to set the NCAA Division II record. He also won the 2013 DII Indoor Championships, finishing second and third the following years. He was the USTFCCCA Div. II Male Athlete of the Year in 2014 and 2015. Kahmari Montgomery (born August 16, 1997) is an American track and field sprinter specializing in the 400 m for Nike. He was the men's 400 m champion at the USA Championships in 2018, and at the NCAA Division I Championships in 2019. He represented the United States in the relay at the World U20 Championships in 2016 and at the inaugural Athletics World Cup in 2018, earning gold medals in both competitions. In early 2018 he ran a 43.38 s relay split, one of the fastest of all time, setting a school record and bringing the Houston Cougars to their first victory in the event at the Penn Relays. Cameron Burrell
Cameron Burrell (September 11, 1994August 9, 2021) was an American sprinter. He was the NCAA Division I champion over 100 meters in 2018, and anchored the Houston Cougars to victory in the meters relay in 2017 and 2018. He ran for the United States relay team at the World Junior Championships in 2012 and the World Relays in 2019, with the team earning gold and silver from each competition respectively. Additionally Burrell anchored the U.S. relay team to gold at the inaugural Athletics World Cup in 2018. He was the son of Olympic gold medalist and former 100 meters world record holder Leroy Burrell and Olympic gold medalist Michelle Finn-Burrell. He was also the godson of former track and field star Carl Lewis.
