Mike Foley (born April 5, 1954) is an American politician serving as the 41st lieutenant governor of Nebraska since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he was previously elected to the Nebraska Legislature from 2001 to 2007 and served as the Nebraska Auditor of Public Accounts from 2007 until 2015. Adrian Michael Smith (born December 19, 1970) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2007. A member of the Republican Party, he represented the 48th district in the Nebraska Legislature from 1999 to 2007. Smith is the dean of Nebraska's congressional delegation. The 2006 United States Senate election in Nebraska was held November 7, 2006. Incumbent Democrat Ben Nelson won reelection to a second term, defeating Republican Pete Ricketts with 63.9% of the vote to Ricketts' 36.1%. Ricketts would later become Governor after winning the 2014 gubernatorial election. As of 2022, this is the last statewide race in Nebraska to be won by a Democrat. John Peter Ricketts (born August 19, 1964) is an American politician serving as the 40th governor of Nebraska since 2015. He is a member of the Republican Party. Ricketts is the son of Joe Ricketts, founder of TD Ameritrade. He is also, with other family members, a part owner of Major League Baseball's Chicago Cubs.
