The United States men's national beach soccer team represents the United States in international beach soccer competitions and is controlled by the USSF, the governing body for soccer in the United States. History Early years The sport of beach soccer originated in Brazil, where locals played soccer on the beaches for recreation. In 1992, the United States created official rules and a national team for the South American sport, which led other countries to do the same. Then in 1993, the United States held the first ever professional beach soccer event, which included national teams from Brazil, Argentina, and Italy. Aleksey Sergeyevich Makarov (russian: Алексей Сергеевич Макаров; born 20 August 1987) is a Russian beach soccer player currently active as a forward. Career Makarov began his professional beach soccer team in the FC Strogino club. For a short period he played for FC Delta Saratov in 2010, but then switched to Lokomotive Moscow where he has been playing since 2010. His first coach was Aleksey Grishin. Anton Pavlovich Shkarin (russian: Антон Павлович Шкарин; born 15 November 1982) is a Russian beach soccer player. He currently plays as defender for Krylya Sovetov Samara. Career Shkarin began his professional beach soccer team in the Spartak-Shchyolkovo club. He played for three seasons in the Russian club Strogino, and since 2010 he is playing for Lokomotive Moscow. His first coach was Vladimir Sinitsa. He debuted for the national team at the 2005 Euro Beach Soccer Cup. The 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was the 11th edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Overall, this was the 21st edition of a world cup in beach soccer since the establishment of the ''Beach Soccer World Championships'' which ran from 1995 to 2004 but was not governed by FIFA. The 2019 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship was the eighth edition of the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship, the premier beach soccer tournament contested by North American men's national teams and organised by CONCACAF (seventh official edition, tenth edition if qualifying tournaments held jointly with CONMEBOL are also counted). The 2017 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship was a beach soccer tournament which took place in Nassau from 20 to 26 February 2017. This was the second time that the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship was held in the Bahamas. All matches were played at the Malcolm Beach Soccer Facility. The 2015 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship was a beach soccer tournament which took place in Costa del Sol, El Salvador on 28 March – 4 April 2015. This was the first time the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship was held in Central America. All matches were played at Estadio de Fútbol Playa (Costa del Sol) in La Paz Department, with an official capacity of 2,000.
