The 2012 United States House of Representatives elections in Missouri were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 and elected the eight United States House of Representatives, U.S. Representatives from the state of Missouri, a loss of one seat following the 2010 United States Census. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including a quadrennial 2012 United States presidential election, presidential election and an United States Senate election in Missouri, 2012, election to the U.S. Senate. Missouri's 3rd Congressional District
Missouri's third congressional district is in the eastern and central portion of the state. It surrounds but does not include St Louis City. Its current representative is Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer. The district took its current form in 2013, when Missouri lost a congressional district as a result of the 2010 census. At that time, much of the northern portion of the old 9th district was added to the 6th district, while most of the remaining territory became the new 3rd district. The current 3rd district is primarily exurban and rural in character and is the second-wealthiest of Missouri's congressional districts, after the neighboring 2nd district. Ann Louise Wagner (née Trousdale, September 13, 1962) is an American politician and diplomat serving as the U.S. representative for Missouri's 2nd congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, she was the United States ambassador to Luxembourg from 2005 to 2009. Her district, based in St. Louis County, is heavily suburban and the state's wealthiest. Missouri's 1st congressional district is in the eastern portion of the state. Elections were held on November 2, 2010, to determine Missouri's nine members of the United States House of Representatives. Representatives were elected for two-year terms to serve in the 112th Congress from January 3, 2011 until January 3, 2013. Primary elections were held on August 3, 2010. Of the nine elections, the races in the 3rd and 4th districts were rated as competitive by ''The Cook Political Report'', ''CQ Politics'', ''The Rothenberg Political Report'' and '' Sabato's Crystal Ball''.
