United States F4 Championship
The Formula 4 United States Championship is an auto racing series that is held under FIA Formula 4 regulations. The championship is sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the professional racing division of the Sports Car Club of America, in conjunction with the Automobile Competition Committee for the United States, the United States representative to the FIA. It is a One make racing, spec series, with all competitors using the same chassis and engine. The championship is designed to support North American drivers entering international Open-wheel car, open-wheel racing, by using the same regulations used by other series globally, rather than compete with existing INDYCAR Road to Indy ladder, with the drivers earning points towards an FIA Superlicence. It serves as an initial step into car racing for drivers graduating from karting. Honda K Engine
The Honda K-series engine is a line of four-cylinder four-stroke car engine introduced in 2001. The K-series engines are equipped with DOHC valvetrains and use roller rockers on the cylinder head to reduce friction. The engines use a coil-on-plug, distributorless ignition system with a coil for each spark plug. This system forgoes the use of a conventional distributor-based ignition timing system in favor of a computer-controlled system that allows the ECU to control ignition timings based on various sensor inputs. The cylinders have cast iron sleeves similar to the B- and F-series engines, as opposed to the FRM cylinders found in the H- and newer F-series engines found only in the Honda S2000. The 2021 Formula 4 United States Championship season was the sixth season of the Formula 4 United States Championship, a motor racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations and sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the professional racing division of the Sports Car Club of America. Teams and drivers Race calendar The 2021 calendar was announced on 5 November 2020. The series held a pre-season test at Virginia International Raceway as well as a Winter Cup at Homestead–Miami Speedway in February and March. Each round is set to feature three races. Later on, the opening rounds at Sonoma Raceway and Laguna Seca were replaced by competitions at Road Atlanta and Road America. Hunter Yeany (born 11 May 2005) is an American racing driver who is currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Rodin Carlin. He previously raced in the Indy Pro 2000 and Formula Regional Americas championships, both with Velocity Racing Development. He was the 2020 Formula 4 United States champion. Cameron Das (born March 17, 2000) is an American racing driver who last competed in the Euroformula Open Championship with Team Motopark. In 2016 Das became the first champion of the United States Formula 4 Championship. Career Karting and national championships Das started karting at Autobahn Indoor Speedway in Jessup, Maryland. In 2015 Das earned his licence to compete in single seaters at the Bertil Roos Racing School. Das made his competition debut in the Bertil Roos Race Series at the Pocono International Raceway east road course. After scoring his first pole position at NJMP Thunderbolt, Das finished fifteenth in the series standings competing a partial schedule. Coached by Jonathan Scarallo, Das scored five podium finishes.
