2016 Formula 4 United States Championship
The 2016 Formula 4 United States Championship season was the inaugural season of the United States Formula 4 Championship, a motor racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations and sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the professional racing division of the Sports Car Club of America. It began on 2 July at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and finished on 10 October at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, after five triple header rounds. Teams and drivers All teams were American-registered. Race calendar The calendar was unveiled on 12 November 2015. On 4 May 2016, it was announced the first round at Lime Rock Park, to be held on 27-28 May, would be rescheduled to give drivers and teams more time to prepare themselves for the season. 2016 Trans-Am Season
The 2016 Trans-Am Series was the 48th running of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series. Benjamin Pedersen
Benjamin Pedersen (born 11 May 1999) is a Danish-American race car driver from Copenhagen, with residence in Seattle, Washington. He currently competes in IndyCar driving for A.J. Foyt Enterprises. Early career Lower formulae Pedersen began his single-seater career in 2016, driving for the Leading Edge Grand Prix in cooperation with Global Racing Group, a team set up by his father, in the F4 United States Championship. A strong start with a podium at Mid-Ohio proved deceiving, as Pedersen ended up tenth in the drivers' standings. For the 2017 season, Pedersen remained in the F4 US series, now partnering Justin Sirgany and Jacob Loomis at Global Racing Group. Homestead is a city within Miami-Dade County in the U.S. state of Florida, between Biscayne National Park to the east and Everglades National Park to the west. Braselton ( ) is a town in Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall, and Jackson counties in the U.S. state of Georgia, approximately northeast of Atlanta. Road Atlanta (known for sponsorship reasons as Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta) is a road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, United States. The facility is utilized for a wide variety of events, including professional and amateur sports car and motorcycle races, racing and driving schools, corporate programs and testing for motorsports teams. The track has 12 turns, including the famous " esses" between turns three and five; and Turn 12, a downhill, diving turn. 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series
The 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series was the 35th season of the Xfinity Series, a stock car racing series sanctioned by the NASCAR in the United States. The season started at Daytona International Speedway on February 20 and ended at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 19. Daniel Suárez of Joe Gibbs Racing won the championship, becoming the first non-American to win a title in NASCAR's top 3 divisions. This was the first year that the Xfinity Series (and the Truck Series) had a playoff system. 2016 F2000 Championship Series
The 2016 F2000 Championship Series season is the eleventh season of competition for the series. Canadian Masters Class competitor Steve Bamford won eight of the twelve races he contested and won the championship. He is the second masters class driver to win the championship. American John McCusker won the penultimate round of the championship to finish second in points. American Masters Class competitor won one race and finished third in points. Other winners were veteran Bob Reid who won the final race of the season, a rain-affected race of only seven laps, and Americans John LaRue and Trent Walko, who each only competed in four races, finishing on the podium in all four, and winning one. Lexington is a village along the Clear Fork River in Troy Township and Washington Township in Richland County in the U.S. state of Ohio.
