Union County High School is a secondary school located in Blairsville, Georgia, Blairsville, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States, in the North Georgia Mountains. It is recognized for making an impact in the community and ranking No. 1 in the school district. The school's mascot is the black panther. Blairsville, Georgia
Blairsville is a city and the county seat of Union County, Georgia, Union County, on the northern border of Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States. It was founded near the Nottely River, which was dammed in 1942 as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority project, forming Lake Nottely. As of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census, the city had a population of 616. History During the 1830s, the United States conducted Indian Removal of the Cherokee Nation (19th century), Cherokee Nation and other Southeast tribes, to what was designated as Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River. This area along the Nottely River was part of the large Cherokee territory and the leader Goingsnake was born here in 1758. Black Panther
A black panther is the melanistic colour variant of the leopard (''Panthera pardus'') and the jaguar (''Panthera onca''). Black panthers of both species have excess black pigments, but their typical rosettes are also present. Towns County High School
Towns County High School is a public high school in Hiawassee, Georgia. It is part of the Towns County School District. The school is at 1400 U.S. Route 76. The school colors are blue and white and the Indians are the school's mascot. The school district is predominantly white, the high school has a higher than state average graduation rate and a lower than state average college preparedness and advanced courses participation rate. Jerry Anthony Taylor, Towns County's historian, taught at the school for 32 years. The school hosts the annual Battle of the States basketball tournament. Chip Kell
Curtis Chip Kell (born March 10, 1949) is an American former professional football player who was a center in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. Kell was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
