"Une colombe" (meaning "A Dove") is the first single from Celine Dion's album ''Mélanie''. It was released on 18 June 1984 in Quebec, Canada. It was written by Marcel Lefebvre and Paul Baillargeon. The song speaks of a world full of peace, love and friendship. On 10 September 1984, Dion sang it for the Pope John Paul II and 65,000 of people at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec. "Une colombe" also won two Félix Awards for Best Selling Single of the Year and the Pop Song of the Year. It was featured on Dion's 2005 greatest hits album ''On ne change pas''. Commercial performance The single was a hit. On 30 June 1984 it entered the Quebec Singles Chart and reached number 2, spending forty four weeks on chart in total. It has sold over 50,000 copies in Canada and received Gold certification in November 1984. ADISQ (french: Association québécoise de l'industrie du disque, du spectacle et de la video; eng, Québec Association for the Recording, Concert and Video Industries, link=yes) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the independent record labels, independent music industry in Quebec. ''On ne change pas'' (meaning ''We do not change'' or ''One does not change'') is the first comprehensive French-language greatest hits album by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released by Columbia Records on 30 September 2005. ''Mélanie'' is the sixth French-language studio album by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released in Quebec, Canada on 22 August 1984. It includes the hit song, "Une colombe". The album reached number one in Quebec, was certified Gold in Canada and won two Félix Awards for Album of the Year and Best Selling Album of the Year. Content The album includes ten songs co-written mainly by Eddy Marnay and produced by Marnay and René Angélil.
