''Under the Surface'' is the debut album from Norwegian singer-songwriter and M2M member Marit Larsen which was released on March 6, 2006. All but three of the songs on the album were written solely by Marit herself. The album went gold in Norway after selling more than 20,000 copies in less than 3 weeks. The album debuted and peaked at No. 3 on the sales chart in Norway. The album spent 52 weeks on VG Topp 40 and 62 weeks on VG Topp 30 Norsk and so far. Marit Larsen
Marit Elisabeth Larsen (born 1 July 1983) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. She began playing violin at age of 5 and played it until the age of 8. She gained international fame during her teenage years as a member of the pop duo M2M with childhood friend Marion Raven. She then pursued her own music career, releasing her debut solo album ''Under the Surface'' in 2006. Her second album, '' The Chase'', was released in Norway in October 2008. Her third album, titled ''Spark'' was released in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland on 18 November 2011, and in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 16 December 2011. Her fourth studio album '' When the Morning Comes'' was released on 20 October 2014. ''Dagsavisen'' is a daily newspaper published in Oslo, Norway. The former party organ of the Norwegian Labour Party, the ties loosened over time from 1975 to 1999. It is considered the primary Norwegian record chart, charting albums and singles from countries and continents around the world. Odd Nordstoga (born 10 December 1972) is a folk singer, musician, actor and editor from Vinje in Telemark, Norway. Peter Eric Zizzo (born February 22, 1966) is an American songwriter, music producer, musician and writer. M2M (band)
M2M were a Norwegian pop duo comprising Marit Larsen and Marion Raven. Larsen and Raven had been friends since the age of five, and formed a music duo when they were eight. They released a children's album in 1996 when Larsen was 12 and Raven was 11, under the name "Marit & Marion". The album was nominated for a Spellemannprisen award and the band changed their name to M2M after signing a record deal with Atlantic Records in 1998. M2M were frequently praised for writing most of their songs and performing their own instruments, something which was considered to set them aside from the majority of teen pop music artists.
