Under The Fog
''Under The Fog'' is the debut album by The King Blues, originally released by Household Name Records in 2006 and later re-released on Field Records, a subsidiary of Island Records in 2008. The album spawned two singles, "Mr. Music Man" and "Come Fi Di Youth". In 2007, 1000 limited edition 180gms hand pressed vinyl albums were released via Household Name Records/Tartan Rex. These included the bonus track "If Genghis Khan Then Why Can't I" The 2008 re-release contained many new edits of the original tracks. The Track "Under The Fog" was renamed "We Ain't Never Done" and "Taking Over" and "The Sound of Revolt" swapped places on the track listings. The King Blues
The King Blues are a British punk rock band from London credited for fusing punk and hip hop together with influences from ska and spoken word. Tariq Ali described the band's sounds as "rough, radical music that should unsettle the rulers of this country. A new generation of musicians are challenging war-monger politicians and their courtiers". Influences include Public Enemy (group), Public Enemy, The Clash and The Specials. Ska punk (also spelled ska-punk) is a fusion genre that mixes ska music and punk rock music together. (sometimes spelled skacore) is a subgenre of ska punk that mixes ska with hardcore punk. Early ska punk mixed both 2 tone and ska with hardcore punk. Ska punk tends to feature brass instruments, especially horns such as trumpets, trombones and woodwind instruments like saxophones, making the genre distinct from other forms of punk rock. It is closely tied to third wave ska which reached its zenith in the mid-1990s. Household Name Records is a DIY punk rock record label, based in London, UK founded in 1996. It has been home to notable artists including Capdown, Howards Alias, Lightyear, and Adequate Seven. Biography Household Name Records was started in 1996 by David "Lil" Giles and Katherine "Kafren" Vik to promote unknown UK bands. Encouraged after successfully releasing their first compilation the team planned several more releases. To begin with the label focused on hardcore punk. In May 2000, the label released Capdown's debut album '' Civil Disobedients''. The album featured hardcore, but also mixed in ska and dub. According to Drowned in sound the album kick-started an underground punk scene. The album went on to be listed at 76 in the NME's top one hundred list for the decade. "My Boy Lollipop" (originally "My Girl Lollypop") is a song written in the mid-1950s by Robert Spencer of the doo-wop group The Cadillacs, and usually credited to Spencer, Morris Levy, and Johnny Roberts. It was first recorded in 1956 by American singer Barbie Gaye under the title My Boy Lollypop. A later version recorded by Jamaican singer Millie Small in 1964, with very similar rhythm, became an international hit that time and is one of the first songs to introduce ska music. Barbie Gaye original version The original song "My Girl Lollypop" was written by Robert Spencer of the doo-wop group The Cadillacs. Morris Levy (born Moishe Levy; August 27, 1927 – May 21, 1990) was an American entrepreneur in the fields of jazz clubs, music publishing, and the independent record industry.
