Uncaged (anthology)
''Uncaged'' is an adventure anthology series for the 5th edition of the '' Dungeons & Dragons'' fantasy role-playing game. Each volume contains various adventures which feature the subversion of classic female mythological creature and monster tropes. The project was created by Ashley Warren and features the work of over 100 writers, illustrators, and editors. Four collections, titled ''Uncaged: Volume I'' through ''Uncaged: Volume IV'', were published in 2019 and 2020. A fifth volume, titled ''Uncaged: Goddesses'', was published in 2022. The books were published on the Dungeon Masters Guild (DMs Guild) under the open game license; they are not considered "official" ''Dungeons & Dragons'' material. ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (commonly abbreviated as ''D&D'' or ''DnD'') is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game (RPG) originally designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. The game was first published in 1974 by TSR (company)#Tactical Studies Rules, Tactical Studies Rules, Inc. (TSR). It has been published by Wizards of the Coast (now a subsidiary of Hasbro) since 1997. Alignment (Dungeons & Dragons)
In the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D'') fantasy role-playing game, alignment is a categorization of the ethical and moral perspective of player characters, non-player characters, and creatures. Most versions of the game feature a system in which players make two choices for characters. One is the character's views on "law" versus "chaos", the other on "good" versus "evil". The two axes allow for nine alignments in combination. Later editions of ''D&D'' have shifted away from tying alignment to specific game mechanics; instead, alignment is used as a roleplaying guide and does not need to be rigidly adhered to by the player. ENNIE Awards
The ENNIE Awards (previously stylized as ENnie Awards) are awards for role-playing game (RPG) products (including game-related accessories, publications, and art) and their creators. The awards were created in 2001 by Russ Morrissey of EN World in partnership with Eric Noah's Unofficial D&D Third Edition News. The ceremony has been hosted at Gen Con in Indianapolis since 2002. Since 2018, EN World is no longer associated with the awards. The ENNIES comprise two rounds. In the first round, publishers submit their products for nomination. Entries are judged by five democratically elected judges. The nominated products are voted on by the public in the second round. A dragon is a reptilian legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide. A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes.
