Ulster Minor Club Football Championship
The Ulster Minor Club Football Championship ( ga, Comórtas Pheil Mhionúr Chumann Uladh), often referred to as the St. Paul's Tournament, an annual Gaelic football tournament organised and hosted by the St Paul's club in Belfast. It is played between the Minor championship winners from each of the nine counties of Ulster. The competition has a straight knock-out format. It was first held in 1982 and the winners are awarded the Jimmy McConville Cup. While unofficial, it is regarded as the Ulster Club Championship for club minor teams. The competition begins in late November or early December with the final taking place in January, typically on New Year's Day (e.g. the 2017 final took place on 1 January 2018). Derry clubs have won the competition eighteen times, more than any other county. Ulster
Ulster (; ga, Ulaidh or ''Cúige Uladh'' ; sco, label= Ulster Scots, Ulstèr or ''Ulster'') is one of the four traditional Irish provinces. It is made up of nine counties: six of these constitute Northern Ireland (a part of the United Kingdom); the remaining three are in the Republic of Ireland. Replay (sports)
A replay (also called a rematch) is the repetition of a match in many sports. Association football In association football, replays were often used to decide the winner in a knock-out tournament when the previous match ended in a draw, especially in finals. In 1970, FIFA (the worldwide governing body of the sport) and IFAB (the international rules committee for the sport) allowed penalty shoot-outs to be held if a match ended in a draw after extra time. The penalty shootout made its appearance immediately thereafter. The first instance of a shootout replacing a replay (rather than lots) was the final of the 1976 European championship. The shootout's first use at the World Cup took place in the 1982 semi-finals. Maghery Sean MacDermott's GAC ( ga, CLG Sheáin Mhic Diarmada, An Mhachaire) is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club from Maghery, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. The rules of overtime or extra time vary between sports and even different competitions. Some may employ " sudden death", where the first player or team who scores immediately wins the game. In others, play continues until a specified time has elapsed, and only then is the winner declared. The Armagh County Board ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae Ard Mhacha) or Armagh GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Killeavy Saint Moninna's Gaelic Athletic Club ( ga, CLG Naomh Moninne, Cill Shléibhe) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Killeavy, County Armagh, near Newry, Northern Ireland. Enniskillen Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in based in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. History The club completed a six-in-a-row of Fermanagh titles between 1998 and 2003. Gaels reached the final of the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship twice during this period, losing to Crossmaglen Rangers in 1999 and to Errigal Ciarán in 2002. The bid for seven championships in a row was ended by Derrygonnelly Harps in the 2004 county final. That great team went on to win one further county title in 2006. Patrick Sarsfields Gaelic Athletic Association is a Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and ladies' Gaelic football club based in West Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. CLG na Cealla Beaga is a GAA club based in Killybegs, County Donegal, Ireland. They have won the Donegal Senior Football Championship on six occasions, most recently in 1996. They have an intense rivalry with Cill Chartha. History Founded in 1924, the club have had teams break up several times in their history. They play football only, though — in the past — played hurling too. From 1967, the team played at the coastal venue Fintra Park, subsequently renamed McDevitt Park; that year Donegal and Mayo played a game to mark its opening.
