Ulf Erik Knudsen
Ulf Erik Knudsen (born 20 December 1964) is a Norwegian politician representing the Progress Party. He has been a Member of Parliament from Buskerud since 1997. Political views In 2006, Knudsen proposed a full stop of immigration to Drammen for fifteen years, being worried about the city getting divided into ghettos. He then also wished to take a settlement against "extreme Islamists", who he claimed was infiltrating the Norwegian society. He has also been critical of "elitist culture", and has proposed to withdraw the public economical support for artists who do not have a broad popular market of demand for their work. He has also been worried about the public economical support for "immigrant culture", of which he also want to withdraw completely. Buskerud
Buskerud () is a former county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Oppland, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Telemark and Vestfold. The region extends from the Oslofjord and Drammensfjorden in the southeast to Hardangervidda mountain range in the northwest. The county administration was in modern times located in Drammen. Buskerud was merged with Akershus and Østfold into the newly created Viken County on 1 January 2020. On the 23 February 2022 Viken County Council voted in a 49 against 38 decision to submit an application to the Norwegian government for a county demerger. Etymology The county was named after the old manor Buskerud ( non, Biskupsruð) (Biskopsrøysa) located on the west side of the Drammen River in Åmot, Modum municipality. Drammen
Drammen () is a city and municipality in Viken (county), Viken, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Drammen municipality also includes smaller towns and villages such as Konnerud, Svelvik, Mjøndalen and Skoger. Kurt Westergaard
Kurt Westergaard (born Kurt Vestergaard; 13 July 1935 – 14 July 2021) was a Danish cartoonist. In 2005 he drew a cartoon of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, wearing a bomb in his turban as a part of the ''Jyllands-Posten'' Muhammad cartoons, which triggered several assassinations and murders committed by Muslims around the world, diplomatic conflicts, and state-organized riots and attacks on Western embassies with several dead in Muslim countries. After the drawing of the cartoon, Westergaard received numerous death threats and was a target of assassination attempts. As a result, he was under constant police protection. Early life Westergaard was born on 13 July 1935 in the village of Døstrup, in the Mariagerfjord area of Jutland.
