Ulakkai Aruvi (also referred to as Rod Falls) is a waterfall on the Western Ghats. This area is in the Asambu reserve forest, in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. The falls are in the middle of forested hills (the hills of the Western Ghats), which is accessible by foot from the base of the hills. The hour's trek from the base of the hills is through a rocky, forested area. There are two falls - the lower falls, and the higher falls, which are further uphill. Nagercoil
Nagercoil, also spelt as Nagarkovil ("Temple of the Nāgas", or Nagaraja-Temple), is a city and the administrative headquarters of Kanyakumari District in Tamil Nadu state, India. Situated close to the tip of the Indian peninsula, it lies on an undulating terrain between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. Nagercoil Corporation is the 12th biggest city of Tamil Nadu. The present city of Nagercoil grew around Kottar, a mercantile town that dates back to the Sangam period. Kottar is now a locality within the city limits. Kanniyakumari district is one of the 38 districts in Tamil Nadu state and the southernmost district in mainland India. Kanniyakumari (; , referring to Devi Kanya Kumari), also known as Cape Comorin, is a city in Kanniyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent and the southernmost city in mainland India, thus referred to as 'The Land's End'. Azhagiapandiapuram is a second grade town panchayat in Kanniyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is located at the centre of Pazhayar valley. It is one of the four town panchayat's in Thovalai taluk. Location and Significance The town spans an area of around 10.24 km2 with Ettamadai, Kesavanputhoor, Melkarai, Perunthalaikadu, Kurathiyarai, Thomaiyarpuram and Palkulam as its sub-villages.
