Ulagansky District
Ulagansky District (russian: Улага́нский райо́н; alt, Улаган аймак, ''Ulagan aymak'') is an administrativeLaw #101-RZ and municipalLaw #10-RZ district (raion), one of the ten in the Altai Republic, Russia. It is located in the east of the republic and borders Turochaksky District, Choysky District, Ongudaysky District, and Kosh-Agachsky District, as well as the republics of Tuva and Khakassia. The area of the district is . Its administrative center is the rural locality (a '' selo'') of Ulagan. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 11,388, with the population of Ulagan accounting for 28.3% of that number. Altai make up 57.2% of the district's population, followed by Russians (20.2%), Telengits (16.3%), Kazakhs (4.5%) and Uzbeks (1.8%). Chulyshman River

Altai Mountains
The Altai Mountains (), also spelled Altay Mountains, are a mountain range in Central Asia, Central and East Asia, where Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan converge, and where the rivers Irtysh and Ob River, Ob have their headwaters. The massif merges with the Sayan Mountains in the northeast, and gradually becomes lower in the southeast, where it merges into the high plateau of the Gobi Desert. Altai Nature Reserve (russian: Алтайский заповедник, also called ) is a Russian ('sanctuary, strict nature reserve') in the Altai Mountains of south Siberia, Russia. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Golden Mountains of Altai", recognized as an area of high biodiversity and isolation from human intrusion. Kazakhs

Telengits
Telengits or Telengut are a Turkic peoples, Turkic ethnic group primarily found in the Altai Republic, Russia. Telengits mainly live in a territory of Kosh-Agach District of the Altai Republic. They are part of a larger cultural group of Southern Altaians. These other groups include: Altai people, Altai, Telengut, and Tolos.
