Uka (singer)
Davaagiin Ulambayar ( mn, Даваагийн Уламбаяр; born 6 November 1982), known professionally as Uka ( mn, Ука), is a Mongolian singer, actress, and TV personality. Born into a family of eight, she first gained attention as a member of a girl group " Kiwi" in 2004. With her trademark blonde hair, and unorthodox dance moves, she was often the face of the group. After her band went inactive in 2014, she pursued a solo career. She has since released four studio albums, "I am in love" (2015), "11.06" (2015), "Hug-Jim" (2017), and "Don't Stop" (2018). Uka was one of the four judges in the first season of a Mongolian talent show, "The Voice of Mongolia", alongside Otgonbayar, Bold, and Ononbat. The eventual winner, Enguun Tseyendash, was selected from her team, "Team Uka". Her single, "Don't Stop", was included in the "Asian Top Hip Hop" album in 2018. Ulaanbaatar (; mn, Улаанбаатар, , "Red Hero"), previously anglicized as Ulan Bator, is the capital and most populous city of Mongolia. It is the coldest capital city in the world, on average. A girl group is a music act featuring several female singers who generally harmonize together. Kiwi (band)
Kiwi () is a girl group from Mongolia. The group initially consisted of Ulambayar, Namuun, and Enkhzol. The band was a personal project by producer Angirmaa. The band has had a total of 6 different members during its 20-year run. The two permanent members during all its iterations were Uka and Namuun. They made their debut with their first album "Khuslee Khelne" in 2006. The group was named the "Best Band" in 2013. As of 2019, the only active member of the band is Ulambayar. She has gone on to release six solo albums, "I am in love", "11.06", "Khugjim", "Don't Stop", and "Do it". ''The Voice of Mongolia'' is a Mongolian reality talent show that aims to discover new singing talents. The first season, premiered on January 21, 2018 on Mongol HDTV. The series is part of the franchise ''The Voice'' and is based on a similar competition format in the Netherlands, ''The Voice of Holland''. The series was created by Dutch television producer John de Mol. It is part of an international series. The winner receives ₮100,000,000 ($38,000) amount of a record deal with Universal Music Group's Mongolian official representative, Mongol Content LLC, and a Nissan Qashqai. Hurd (band)
Hurd ( mn, Хурд, , "speed") is a Mongolian rock band. Formed in 1987 as Skorost (russian: Скорость, , also "speed") by drummer Dambyn Ganbayar, Hurd is considered the first band to have introduced the heavy metal genre into the Mongolian music landscape. Along with Chingis Khaan, Haranga or Niciton, they are considered "veterans" of the Mongolian pop rock scene, and, as such, they have greatly contributed to its diversification and encouraged the emergence of many new rock acts. Hurd has released nine studio albums, one live album, one compilation album, two video albums and one box set. Bold Dorjsuren (born on November 16, 1978) is a Mongolian singer, producer, and television personality. He enrolled in “School of music and dance” in 1986 and he graduated as a professional violinist in 1996. He began his career as a member of a Mongolian boy band Camerton in 1995. in 2015, Bold started his solo music career with his debut album "Hairiin huch” in 2005. Since then he released twelve albums. He graduated “University of Art and Culture” as a professional singer in 2013. As of 2018, he has released more than 250 songs, and 12 albums under his record label B Production. Tseyendashiin Engüün ( mn, Цэендашийн Энгүүн, born 7 September 2000) is a Mongolian professional violinist, and singer. She is the winner of season 1 of The Voice of Mongolia at the age of 17. Breakdancing, also called breaking or b-boying/b-girling, is an athletic style of street dance originating from the African American and Puerto Rican communities in the United States.
