US Pujols XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Pujols, Lot-et-Garonne in the south-west of France. The club plays in National Division 1. Home games are played at the Lacassagne Sports Complex. PUJOLS
José Alberto Pujols Alcántara () (); born January 16, 1980) is a Dominican-American former professional baseball first baseman, designated hitter and third baseman who played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). Nicknamed "The Machine", or "La Máquina" in Spanish, Pujols played his first 11 seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, then played for the Los Angeles Angels for more than nine seasons before joining the Los Angeles Dodgers for half a season. National Division 1
The National Division 1 is the third tier of rugby league in France, below the Elite Two Championship and above the National Division 2. The season runs from September to April. From season 2012–13 the league was split into regions ''East'' and ''West'', each team plays each other in their regional league home and away with the top sides then meeting in a series of play-off matches resulting in a Grand Final. The winner can be promoted to ''Elite Two'' subject to having adequate finances and facilities. Occasionally if the winners aren't able to be promoted, or opt out, then the team finishing second could be promoted. History The league was first played for in 1949-50 under the title 2nd Division. Pujols (; oc, Pujòls) is a commune in the Lot-et-Garonne department in south-western France. Geography Location This once fortified town lies within the municipal community of Greater Villeneuve and overlooks the Lot valley and the city of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. Pujols is located about 19 miles (30 km) north of Agen and halfway between Bordeaux and Toulouse (about 93 miles, or 150 km, from each). Gifi Bias XIII were a French Rugby league club based in Bias, Lot-et-Garonne, in the Aquitaine region. The club played in the French National Division 1 and National Division 2 leagues during its time. Founded in 1961, the club moved to Pujols, Lot-et-Garonne in 2014 and changed names to US Pujols XIII History Gifi Bias XIII were founded in 1961 but the club would have to wait for over 30 years before their first final appearance. That came in 1995 when they won the Coupe Falcou and by the end of the season they had completed a league and cup double after defeating RC Lescure-Arthes XIII in the National 2 nowadays the National Division 1 league final 34-12. National Division 2 is the fourth tier of rugby league in France, below the National Division 1. The season runs from September to April. The Division is split into 5 regional leagues, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, Aquitaine, Ile de France and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA). Clubs play each other home and away in their respective regional league with the top clubs progressing into a series of play-off matches to determine the champions. The champions can apply for promotion to the ''National Division 1''. This tier was formerly known as the Federal Championship. Salses XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Salses-le-Château, Pyrénées-Orientales in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. They play in the French National Division 2 Languedoc-Rousillon League. Home games are played at the Stade Fontvielle History The club was founded in 1955 at a time when new clubs were starting up in rugby league, as the French national team were enjoying what would be their best period at international level. It would take Salses until 1986 to appear in their first final, defeated by Ornaisons XIII 10-16 in the Federal Division, now known as the National Division 2 league. In 2000 they merged with local side Opoul XIII to become Salses Opoul XIII this partnership would last for seven years, when both clubs reverted to their original names. During this joint partnership the newly named club reached five finals and won them all. Realmont XIII are a French rugby league club based in Realmont in the Tarn region of the Midi-Pyrénées. The club plays in the French National Division 1, which is the 3rd tier. The club plays home games at the Stade Claude Andre History The club was founded on 19 December 1935 making it one of the earliest Rugby League sides in France. Playing in regional divisions they were runner-up in 1939 in the Pyrenees Championship and were winners of the Champion du Rouergue in 1946. In 1976 the National 2 league was set up and the club were invited to participate, in 1978 they won the new league beating Sainte-Livrade XIII in the final 14-13.
