US-China University Presidents Roundtable
The US-China University Presidents Roundtable () is a biennial international conference gathering of the presidents and chancellors from leading U.S. and Chinese universities. It is also a major event of the Strategic Economic Dialogue, China-US Strategic Economic Dialogue. The purpose of the conference is to discuss global education, research collaboration and cultural exchanges between the U.S. and Chinese institutions. Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), located just outside Batavia, Illinois, near Chicago, is a United States Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. Since 2007, Fermilab has been operated by the Fermi Research Alliance, a joint venture of the University of Chicago, and the Universities Research Association (URA). Fermilab is a part of the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor. Fermilab's Main Injector, two miles (3.3 km) in circumference, is the laboratory's most powerful particle accelerator. Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU; ) is a public research university in Shanghai, China. The university is funded by the Ministry of Education of China. The university was established on April 8, 1896 as Nanyang Public School (南洋公學) by an imperial edict.
