UEFA Euro 1980 Qualifying
The qualifying round for UEFA Euro 1980 consisted of 31 teams divided into seven groups; three of five teams and four of four teams. The qualifying round (drawn in Rome on 30 November 1977) was played at various times between May 1978 and February 1980, with some groups concluding earlier than others. Estádio da Luz (, Stadium of Light), officially named Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, was a multi-purpose stadium located in Lisbon, Portugal. It was used mostly for football matches and hosted the home matches of S.L. Benfica and the Portugal national team. The stadium was opened on 1 December 1954 and it was able to hold an official maximum of 120,000 people, making it the largest stadium in Europe and the third largest in the world in terms of capacity. Some of the biggest attendances include a game against FC Porto with an estimated attendance between 135,000 and 140,000 people, the 1989–90 European Cup semi-final against Olympique de Marseille and the 1991 FIFA World Youth Championship final between Portugal and Brazil with 127,000 people in each game. Franky Vercauteren
François Vercauteren (born 28 October 1956), nicknamed "The Little Prince", is a Belgian former footballer who played as a left winger. He is currently unemployed after most recently managing Antwerp. Club career Vercauteren made his first team debut for Anderlecht in 1975 against Racing Mechelen, replacing Gilbert Van Binst. A double surgery in October 1975 and January 1976, however, later slowed down his development. Vercauteren won the five European titles with Anderlecht (two European Cup Winners' Cups, one UEFA Cup and two European Supercups). Eurico Monteiro Gomes (born 29 September 1955), known simply as Eurico in his playing days, is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a central defender, and is a manager. Arne Larsen Økland (born 31 May 1954) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a striker for Vard Haugesund, Bryne, Bayer Leverkusen and Racing Club de Paris. He was capped 54 times for Norway, scoring 13 goals and he is regarded as one of the best Norwegian players of his generation. He later coached Bryne and Viking. Club career Økland was born in Bømlo and began his career at the local club Bremnes before he moved to Vard Haugesund in the early 1970s. In 1976 the club played their sole season in the Norwegian top division and Økland scored 11 goals, and made his international debut the same year.
