U96 Albums
U96 is a German musical project formed by DJ and producer Alex Christensen, and a team of producers named Matiz (Ingo Hauss, Helmut Hoinkis, and Hayo Lewerentz). After a decade-long hiatus, the band returned in 2018 without Christensen and Hoinkis. History ''Das Boot'': 1991–1992 The name of the project comes from the film ''Das Boot'' about German submarine '' U-96'' from World War II. The project's first hit, "Das Boot" (1991), is a techno adaptation of the film's title melody, which had been originally composed by Klaus Doldinger. An album of the same name was also released. ''Replugged'': 1993 The band's next album, ''Replugged'' (1993), was inspired by the electro sounds of the 1980s and by ambient and disco music themes. Klaus Doldinger
Klaus Doldinger (born 12 May 1936) is a German saxophonist known for his work in jazz and as a film music composer. He was the recipient of 1997's Bavarian Film Awards. Life and work Doldinger was born in Berlin, Germany, and entered a Düsseldorf conservatory in 1947, originally studying piano and then clarinet, graduating in 1957. In his student years, Doldinger gained professional performing experience, starting in 1953 in the German Dixieland band ''The Feetwarmers'', and recording with them in 1955. Later that year he founded Oscar's Trio' modeled on Oscar Peterson's work. During the 1960s, he worked as a tenor saxophonist, working with visiting American jazz musicians, Beat groups like Ian and the Zodiacs and recording in his own right. Doldinger's recurring jazz project Passport, started in 1971 (then called "Klaus Doldinger's Passport"), still enjoys success in Germany. Brooklyn Bounce
Brooklyn Bounce is one of several pseudonyms used by German producers Matthias Menck (Double M) and Dennis Bohn (Bonebreaker). They have also produced music under the names Mental Madness Productions and Beatbox feat. Rael. Menck and Bohn have created remixes of a wide array of artists, including Scooter and Kool & the Gang. Career Menck and Bohn, both natives to Hamburg, met in 1995. The pair had their first chart hit starring as Boyz R Us with the single "Singin' in My Mind". In 1996 the duo debuted as Brooklyn Bounce and released "The Theme (of Progressive Attack)" which scaled the German dance charts as a club favourite before becoming a crossover hit for the group as well. "Club Bizarre" is a song recorded by German dance act U96, released in February 1995 as the second single from the album of the same name (1995). It was a hit in several countries, although it was not as successful as the act's previous single, "Love Religion", but became a top twenty hit in the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria. On the Eurochart Hot 100, the single peaked at number 28 in April 1995. It features uncredited vocals by Skadi Lange.
