Società Sportiva Calcistica Ancona, commonly referred to as Ancona, is an Italian football club based in Ancona, Marche. The club is the heir of the defunct former Serie A club Ancona, with whom it shares its official historical logo. The continuation of football in Ancona goes back to 1905, when the original club was first founded. Matelica is a (municipality) of the Province of Macerata in the Italian region of Marche. Located about southwest of Ancona and west of Macerata, it extends over an area of . The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italian football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. All 20 regions are represented by at least one division except for Piedmont and Aosta Valley which share 2 divisions.
