Type 905 Replenishment Tanker
The Type 905 ( NATO reporting name: ''Fuqing'') is a class of replenishment oiler (AOR) built for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) by the People's Republic of China (PRC). PNS ''Nasr'' (A47) is a Type 905 replenishment oiler of the Pakistan Navy. The oiler was constructed in the People's Republic of China by the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company and entered service in 1987. History ''Nasr'' was ordered by Pakistan in late-1986 and completed to Pakistani requirements. She entered service in 1987. A Phalanx CIWS was installed in 1995; it may have come from the retired County-class destroyer PNS ''Babur''. On 21 October 1998, the oiler suffered minor from being rammed by the commercial tanker ''Sun Marsat'' at Karachi. In April 2003, ''Nasr'' and deployed to the Port of Chittagong in Bangladesh to support the Bangladeshi Navy. In 2006, she was visited Langkawi in Malaysia before reporting back her homeport. She provided relief to the Maldives after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, and was the first foreign contingent to start rescue operations there. North Sea Fleet
The Northern Theater Command Navy (), or the North Sea Fleet (NSF; ) is one of the three fleets of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy, under the Northern Theater Command. In September 1950 the Qingdao Army Base was redesignated as a naval base. Following the departure of the Soviet Navy from Lüshunkou (Port Arthur), the North Sea Fleet was established in 1960 with naval bases in Qingdao and Lüshunkou. It includes the Aircraft carrier Liaoning, as well as nuclear-powered attack and missile submarines based at Qingdao bastion. The North Sea Fleet was historically the most capable of the Navy's three fleets, being the first in China to operate destroyers, shore-based missiles and nuclear submarines. East Sea Fleet
The Eastern Theater Command Navy (), or East Sea Fleet (ESF; ), is one of the three fleets of the People's Liberation Army Navy, operating in the East China Sea under the Eastern Theater Command. It was the first naval force formed by the People's Liberation Army, on 23 April 1949 and was initially based at Shanghai. Renamed in 1955, it has since been assigned to be part of the People's Liberation Army Navy and its headquarters have been moved to Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, but the fleet continues to patrol the East China Sea. Its flagship is the Type 052C destroyer ''Changchun''. People's Liberation Army Navy
The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN; ), also known as the People's Navy, Chinese Navy, or PLA Navy, is the maritime service branch of the People's Liberation Army. The PLAN traces its lineage to naval units fighting during the Chinese Civil War and was established on 23 April 1949. Type 908 Replenishment Ship
''Qinghaihu'' is a replenishment oiler of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). Ukraine sold the incomplete ship in 1992 to the People's Republic of China, where it was completed and commissioned in 1996. In Chinese service, the ship was previously known as ''Nancang'' (953). The ship's class has the NATO reporting name Fuso. Design The superstructure is modified with a deckhouse forward of the bridge and a working area built over the fuel cargo tanks. The stern is sponsoned for the helicopter pad; a small hangar is also installed. There are four fuel and two solid store transfer stations. Refueling may be conducted from the stern. A replenishment oiler or replenishment tanker is a naval auxiliary ship with fuel tanks and dry cargo holds which can supply both fuel and dry stores during underway replenishment (UNREP) at sea. Many countries have used replenishment oilers. The United States Navy's hull classification symbol for this type of ship was AOR. Replenishment oilers are slower and carry fewer dry stores than the U.S. Navy's modern fast combat support ships, which carry the classification AOE. NATO reporting names are code names for military equipment from Russia, China, and historically, the Eastern Bloc (Soviet Union and other nations of the Warsaw Pact).
