Tyler Ennis (basketball)
Tyler Cameron Ennis McIntyre (born August 24, 1994) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Tofaş of the Turkish BSL. He played college basketball for the Syracuse Orange, where he was considered one of the top freshmen in 2013–14. He was drafted 18th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2014 NBA draft. High school career Ennis attended St. Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey. Prior to heading south to St. Benedict's Prep, Ennis attended Cardinal Newman Catholic Elementary School in Brampton, Ontario and Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in Etobicoke, Ontario. In his junior year in 2011–12, Ennis led St. Benedict's, coached by Mark Taylor, to a school-record 35 victories and the No. 2 ranking in New Jersey. He was named the Gatorade New Jersey Player of the Year while averaging 14.6 points and 7.1 assists per game. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. 2014 NBA Summer League
The 2014 NBA Summer League consists of two pro basketball leagues organized by the NBA and the Orlando Magic just after the 2014 NBA Draft. Ten teams took part in the week-long summer league at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, from July 5 to 11, 2014. The other summer league was the Las Vegas NBA Summer League, having taken place at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion in Paradise, Nevada ( near Las Vegas) from July 11 to 21, 2014, with 23 NBA teams and the NBA D-League Select team participating. The Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers participated in both leagues. Naismith College Player Of The Year
The Naismith College Player of the Year is an annual basketball award given by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to the top men's and women's collegiate basketball players. It is named in honor of Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball. History and selection First awarded exclusively to male players in 1969, the award was expanded to include female players in 1983. Annually before the college season begins in November, a "watchlist" consisting of 50 players is chosen by the Atlanta Tipoff Club board of selectors, comprising head coaches, administrators and media members from across the United States. The Canadian men's national basketball team represents Canada in international basketball competitions since 1923. They are overseen by Canada Basketball, the governing body of basketball in Canada.
