''Tuttosport'' is an Italian sport newspaper published in Turin, Italy. History and profile ''Tuttosport'' was first published on 30 July 1945. Renato Casalbore (who later died in the 1949 Superga air disaster alongside the Il Grande Torino football squad) founded the newspaper as a bi-weekly. In 1946, it moved to three editions a week, and since 12 March 1951 it has been published daily. The paper has its headquarters in Turin. It is published in broadsheet format. Typical issues have 28 or 32 pages and are produced in four editions, targeted respectively at Turin, Rome, Milan, and Genoa. The newspaper is edited by Xavier Jacobelli; his predecessors have included Vittorio Oreggia, Paolo De Paola, Giancarlo Padovan, Antonio Ghirelli, and Gianpaolo Ormezzano. Circulation ''Tuttosport'' had a circulation of 123,921 copies in 2004. The circulation of the paper was 115,533 copies in 2008. In 2012 the paper sold 64,355,791 copies. Golden Boy (award)
The Golden Boy is an award that is given by sports journalists to a young footballer playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year (two halves to two separate seasons). All nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation's top tier. The 2022 edition was won by Barcelona's Gavi. Apart from the main award, an additional one, Golden Boy Web, is decided by online users. Selection The prize was established by Italian sports newspaper ''Tuttosport'' in 2003. Jule Brand (born 16 October 2002) is a German footballer who plays as a defender, midfielder or winger for VfL Wolfsburg and the Germany women's national team. Superga Air Disaster
The Superga air disaster occurred on 4 May 1949, when a Fiat G.212 of Avio Linee Italiane (Italian Airlines), carrying the entire Torino football team (popularly known as the ''Grande Torino''), crashed into the retaining wall at the back of the Basilica of Superga, which stands on a hill on the outskirts of Turin. All thirty-one people on the flight died. Background The Avio Linee Italiane Fiat G.212CP was carrying the team home from Lisbon, where they had played a friendly match with S.L. Benfica in honour of the Portuguese captain, Francisco Ferreira. In the incident, the whole active Torino team (almost all of the Italy national football team) lost their lives.
