Tuqtupampa
Tuctubamba or Tuqtubamba (possibly from Quechua ''tuqtu'' broody hen, ''pampa'' a large plain, "broody hen plain") is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It is situated in the Ancash Region, at the border of the Mariscal Luzuriaga Province, Lucma District, the Pomabamba Province, Huayllán District, and the Yungay Province, Yanama District. Mariscal Luzuriaga Province
The Mariscal Luzuriaga Province (Spanish ''mariscal'' marshal) is one of 20 provinces of the Ancash Region in Peru. It was created by law 12541 on January 12, 1956 and named after the Peruvian marshal and Argentine general Toribio de Luzuriaga Since the Inca roads crossed its territory up to the Ecuador, where its capital Piscobamba is located now, there was a strategic '' tambo'' during the Inca's time. Pisqu Pampa means "bird plain" in Quechua. This place has a special attraction due to four mythical hills: Kampanayuq, Aswaq, Amañico and Wankash. Pomabamba Province
The Pomabamba Province (Quechua Puma Pampa) is one of twenty provinces of the Ancash Region in Peru. It was formerly called ''Pumapampa'' (Quechua for "cougar plain") and today it is also known as "The City of Cedars". It is located at the left bank of the Pomabamba river, at above sea level. It was created by law on February 21, 1861. In this vast region some archaeological sites like Ichik Yaynu, Willka Marka, Runa Marka and the gigantic stone constructions of Yaynu were found with features of the Recuay Culture. For these ancient copper-colored and fecund places, one of the biggest pre-inca confederations was created, the powerful confederation of conchucos. It was an iron agglomeration of people that presented a hard and brave resistance to the Inca and Spanish armies. Ancash ( qu, Anqash; es, Áncash ) is a department and region in northern Peru. Cordillera Blanca
The Cordillera Blanca (Spanish for "white range") is a mountain range in Peru that is part of the larger Andes range and extends for between 8°08' and 9°58'S and 77°00' and 77°52'W, in a northwesterly direction. It includes several peaks over high and 722 individual glaciers. The highest mountain in Peru, Huascarán, at high, is located there. The Cordillera Blanca lies in the Ancash region and runs parallel to the Santa River valley (also called Callejón de Huaylas in its upper and midsections) on the west.
