TruTV was a pay television television channel, channel owned by Turner Broadcasting System#International, Turner Broadcasting System Asia. The channel aired "caught-on-video" reality programs, Adult Swim programs or as TruTV called it, "actuality" television. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. TruTV (stylized as truTV) is an American basic cable channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. The channel primarily broadcasts comedy, docusoaps and reality shows. The channel was originally launched in 1991 as Court TV, a network that focused on crime-themed programs such as true crime documentary series, legal dramas, and coverage of prominent criminal cases. The channel was initially a joint venture between Time Warner, American Lawyer Media, Cablevision, and NBC, with Liberty Media later joining the venture as well. By 2005, Liberty Media and Time Warner had purchased ALM, Cablevision and NBC's stakes in Court TV. Time Warner subsequently bought out Liberty's share in 2006 for $735 million, and brought the channel under its Turner Broadcasting subsidiary. Boomerang is a pan-Asian cable and satellite television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery under its International division. Like the original US version, this localization first began as a programming block that aired on Cartoon Network Asia (from 2001 to 2005), before becoming its own channel in 2004.
