Troubridge Point
Troubridge Point is a headland in the Australian state of South Australia located on the south coast of Yorke Peninsula about south west of Edithburgh. It is the western end of the opening to Gulf St Vincent. Description Troubridge Point is about south west of Edithburgh. It is the most easterly point of the Yorke Peninsula coast that directly adjoins Investigator Strait. It is the termination for a pair of coastlines - one extending from Cape Spencer in the west and the other extending from Sultana Point from the north in Gulf St Vincent. It is the western end of the opening to Gulf St Vincent. As of 2014, the point was located within the locality of Honiton. The Yorke Peninsula is a peninsula located northwest and west of Adelaide in South Australia, between Spencer Gulf on the west and Gulf St Vincent on the east. The peninsula is separated from Kangaroo Island to the south by Investigator Strait. The most populous town in the region is Kadina. Edithburgh, South Australia
Edithburgh is a small town on the south-east corner of Yorke Peninsula situated on the coastline of Salt Creek Bay, in the state of South Australia. Gulf St Vincent
Gulf St Vincent, sometimes referred to as St Vincent Gulf, St Vincent's Gulf or Gulf of St Vincent, is the eastern of two large inlets of water on the southern coast of Australia, in the state of South Australia, the other being the larger Spencer Gulf, from which it is separated by Yorke Peninsula. On its eastern side the gulf is bordered by the Adelaide Plains and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Investigator Strait
Investigator Strait is a body of water in South Australia lying between the Yorke Peninsula, on the Australian mainland, and Kangaroo Island. It was named by Matthew Flinders after his ship, HMS ''Investigator'', on his voyage of 1801–1802. It is bordered by the Gulf St Vincent in the northeast. Discovery and exploration It was named Investigator’s Strait by Flinders on Monday 29 March 1802. It was named after George Spencer, 2nd Earl Spencer by Matthew Flinders during March 1802. Sultana Point
Sultana Point is a headland in the Australian state of South Australia located near the south east tip of Yorke Peninsula in the gazetted locality of Sultana Point about south-southeast of the town of Edithburgh. The waters to its immediate east contain the shoal system known as the Troubridge Shoals. The name derives from the former government town of Honiton which was proclaimed on 27 April 1876, which ceased on 26 September 1982 and whose site is within the locality’s extent. The former government town’s name itself is reported as being derived from Honiton, a town located in Devonshire, England.
