Tristen Hoge
Tristen Hoge (born May 23, 1997) in Pocatello, Idaho is a former American football offensive guard who retired as a free agent. He played college football at Brigham Young from 2017 to 2020. He previously attended Notre Dame. High school Hoge attended Highland High School where he was a highly-touted offensive lineman and won the Gatorade Player of the Year award twice for Idaho. He was ranked as the number one center in the nation. Hoge was also named to the 2014 American First-team and played in the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. College career Hoge received offers from Stanford, Florida, Penn State, Michigan State, LSU, Boise State and BYU, before committing to Notre Dame. He played two years at Notre Dame and was chosen as the 2015 Notre Dame Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year, before playing six games in 2016. Guard (gridiron Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The quarterback (commonly abbreviated "QB"), colloquially known as the "signal caller", is a position in gridiron football. Merril Hoge
Merril DuAine Hoge (; born January 26, 1965) is a former professional American football player. He played eight seasons at running back for the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears, retiring after the 1994 season. Since 1996 he had been a football analyst for ESPN television. Hoge, along with fellow longtime ''NFL Matchup'' analyst Ron Jaworski, were laid off after wide ESPN cuts in April 2017.
