Triple Town
''Triple Town'' is a freemium strategy puzzle video game with city-building elements. It is available for social networks and mobile devices and was developed by Seattle-based Spry Fox. The casual game was originally released for the Amazon Kindle e-reader in 2010, and was ported to the Facebook and Google+ social networks in October 2011. It was published in January 2012 for iOS and some Android devices. It was released for Windows and Macintosh through Steam on December 6, 2012. Gameplay The premise of the turn-based, single-player game is that the player must build a new settlement. The game takes place on a 6×6 grid of fields on which some tiles are randomly placed. Spry Fox is a video game producing company headquartered in Seattle, United States, that was founded in 2010 by David Edery and Daniel Cook. The company produced the games ''Triple Town'', a freemium strategy puzzle game with city-building game elements for social networks and mobile devices; ''Steambirds'', a strategy flying game for mobile devices; '' Road Not Taken'', a roguelike puzzle game; and co-created ''Realm of the Mad God'' with Wild Shadow Studios. Lolapps was a developer and publisher of social games on the Facebook platform. Lolapps was best known for creating Ravenwood Fair with John Romero which had 25 million players worldwide. In 2011, Lolapps merged with social games publisher 6waves to become 6waves Lolapps. Indie Game
An indie game, short for independent video game, is a video game typically created by individuals or smaller development teams without the financial and technical support of a large game publisher, in contrast to most "AAA" (triple-A) games. However, the "indie" term may apply to other scenarios where the development of the game has some measure of independence from a publisher even if a publisher helps fund and distribute a game, such as creative freedom. Because of their independence and freedom to develop, indie games often focus on innovation, experimental gameplay, and taking risks not usually afforded in AAA games, and may explore the medium to produce unique experiences in art games.
