Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, commonly known as TU Cricket Ground or simply TU Ground ( ne, त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय क्रिकेट मैदान) is a cricket ground in Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Nepal. History The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1998 when Bangladesh national cricket team, Bangladesh played Papua New Guinea national cricket team, Papua New Guinea in the 1998 ACC Trophy. Kirtipur (Nepal Bhasa: किपू ''Kipoo'') is a Municipality and an ancient city of Nepal. The Newars are the natives of Kipoo (Kirtipur) that is believed to be derived from Kirati King Yalamber. It is located in the Kathmandu Valley 5 km south-west of the city of Kathmandu. The 2011 ACC Twenty20 Cup was played between 3–11 December 2011 in Nepal. The tournament acted as a qualifying tournament for the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. The tournament was won by defending champions Afghanistan who defeated Hong Kong in the final to win the tournament for a third time. 2005 Intercontinental Cup
The 2005 ICC Intercontinental Cup was the second edition of the ICC Intercontinental Cup, a cricket competition for (then) 12 nations from Asia, Africa, North America and Europe. All the games were scheduled for three days and were designated first class. The teams played each other team in each of the four groups once.
