Tramway Français Standard
The Tramway Français Standard (TFS) is a type of tram designed and manufactured by Alstom for use on various trams in France, tramway systems in France. The TFS is no longer in production, having been superseded by the Alstom Citadis range of tramcars. Two different models of the TFS were produced, both being Articulated vehicle, articulated designs. The first model, the TFS-1, was built for the opening of the Tramway de Nantes, Nantes tram system in 1985. As built, these were single-articulated 6-axle tramcars with a high floor and steep stepped access from low level boarding platforms. All the tramcars built in this form have since been rebuilt with an added low-floor centre section, thus becoming 8-axle double-articulated cars. PCC Streetcar
The PCC (Presidents' Conference Committee) is a streetcar (tram) design that was first built in the United States in the 1930s. The design proved successful in its native country, and after World War II it was licensed for use elsewhere in the world where PCC based cars were made. The PCC car has proved to be a long-lasting icon of streetcar design, and many remain in service around the world. Origins The "PCC" initialism originated from the design committee formed in 1929 as the "Presidents' Conference Committee", renamed the "Electric Railway Presidents' Conference Committee" (ERPCC) in 1931. Nantes Tramway
The Nantes tramway (french: Tramway de Nantes) is a tramway system operating in the city of Nantes in Pays de la Loire, France. The first tramway in Nantes opened in 1879 and closed in 1958 due to bombing damage during World War II, while the present tramway was re-introduced to the city in 1985. The first tramway in Nantes was notable for its use of compressed air propulsion pioneering this technology. In the 1980s, Nantes became the first city in Europe to re-introduce the present tramway which was the first modern 'new generation' tramway to be built, reversing the trend of tramway closures that had been going on since the middle of the 20th century and becoming the first in a wave of tramways built from scratch in France and the rest of Europe. The Rouen tramway (french: Tramway de Rouen, known locally as "Métro de Rouen") is a tramway/ light rail network in the city of Rouen, Normandy, France. Construction began in 1991 and the network opened for service on 17 December 1994. Île-de-France tramway Line 2 (T2; French: ''Ligne 2 du tramway d'Île-de-France'') is part of the modern tram network of the Île-de-France region of France. It connects the commune of Bezons in the north to the Porte de Versailles Métro station in Paris in the south, serving Hauts-de-Seine and its La Défense business district. Île-de-France Tramway Line 1
Île-de-France tramway Line 1 (usually called simply T1) is part of the modern tram network of the Île-de-France region of France. Line T1 connects Noisy-le-Sec station and Asnières-sur-Seine with a suburban alignment running in parallel to the Northern city limits of Paris. The line has a length of and 36 stations. It opened in 1992 as the first modern tram line in the Paris region. The line was extended in December 2003 and November 2012. Line T1 is operated by the Régie autonome des transports parisiens (RATP) under the authority of Île-de-France Mobilités. Saint-Étienne Tramway
The Saint-Étienne tramway (french: Tramway de Saint-Étienne) is a tram system in the city of Saint-Étienne in the Rhône-Alpes (France) that has functioned continuously since its opening in 1881. The first tramway line was steam-operated and was opened by the (CFVE) on 4 December 1881, stretching for 5.5 km between and . The CFVE took over the lines and discontinued the use of steam in 1912. Lines with small patronage were replaced by trolleybuses in 1932 with all but one line closed in 1956 as a result of the impossibility of running these buses on the busiest line of the network. The decision to keep the tramway in the 1950s saw the introduction of the famous PCC tramcars to replace 1932 rolling stock and the Vevey-Alsthom tramcars in 1991-1992. The Grenoble tramway (french: Tramway de Grenoble) is the tram system in the city of Grenoble in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. In 1987, Grenoble became the second French city to reintroduce trams, the first being the Nantes tramway. The current network is long, and comprises five lines: lines A, B, C, D and E.
